The award is selected once a year. Divided into open quotas and targeted quotas. The open quotas are recommended by universities and the Ministry of Education organizes experts to review the academic status, scientific research ability, and performance of the recommenders.
The open quotas do not exceed 200 per year. Due to a large number of applicants, strict evaluation requirements, and limited places, the Chinese Government Scholarship for Outstanding International Students in China is regarded as one of the highest honors granted by the Chinese Government to international students.
Since our school recommended outstanding international students in China to participate in the competition for open quotas in 2015, a total of 12 international students have won this award for six consecutive years.
