International Chinese Teacher Scholarship

In order to meet the international community’s increasing demand for Chinese language education talents, promote the development of Chinese language education around the world, and help the growth of international Chinese language education talents, the Ministry of Education’s Sino-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) has established an international Chinese teacher scholarship (hereinafter referred to as the Center) Referred to as scholarship), focusing on training qualified overseas Chinese teachers.

According to the "Application Measures for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship (2021)" issued by the Center and related document requirements, the "Beijing Language and Culture University 2021 International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Application Measures" is announced as follows:

Objects of funding

1. Non-Chinese nationals;

2. Physical and mental health, good character and learning;

3. Aspiring to engage in Chinese education, teaching and related work;

4. The age is 16-35 years old (unified on September 1, 2021). In-service Chinese teachers are relaxed to 45 years old, and applicants for undergraduate scholarships are generally under 25 years old.

Scholarship categories and application conditions

1. Master's Degree in Chinese International Education

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 2 years.

Have a university degree. A minimum score of 210 in the HSK test (Level 5) and 60 in the HSKK (Intermediate) test are required. Those who provide a work agreement or relevant certification for the teaching institution to be taught after graduation is preferred.

2. Bachelor of Chinese International Education

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 4 years.

Have a high school diploma. A minimum score of 210 in the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 in the HSKK (Intermediate) test.

3. One-year trainee

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 11 months. International students in China will not be admitted.

There are two types of professional directions:

(1) Chinese language training

With a score of 210 in the HSK test (Level 3), those who provide HSKK scores are preferred.

(2) Chinese International Education

Have a score of 270 in the HSK test (Level 3) and an HSKK test score.

4. One-semester trainee

Enrollment in September 2021 and March 2022, the funding period is 5 months. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted. Have a score of 180 in the HSK test (Level 3) and an HSKK test score.

Professional direction: Chinese language and literature.

5. Four weeks Chinese language students

Have HSK scores. The funding period is 4 weeks, and registration is organized by the recommending organization, with 10 to 15 people per group. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted. You can choose to take classes with students from other countries in the following time periods, and classify students according to their actual Chinese level. If you are in separate classes, the admission time can be negotiated separately.

June 30-July 27, 2021 (4 weeks)

July 21-August 17, 2021 (4 weeks)

August 04-August 31, 2021 (4 weeks)

December 29, 2021-January 25, 2022 (4 weeks)

Funding content and standards

The scholarship for international Chinese teachers includes tuition, accommodation, living expenses (except for four-week study students) and comprehensive medical insurance.

Application process

From March 1, 2021, applicants can log on to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Application Website (cis.Chinese.cn) to apply for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship.

Log on to the scholarship website to inquire about recommending institutions and receiving institutions; submit application materials online, pay attention to the application process, review opinions and scholarship review results; scholarship recipients confirm with our school to go through the procedures for studying in China, and print the award certificate online; press Beijing Language and Culture University Enter the journal at the time specified in the admission notice.

Application deadline (subject to Beijing time):

1. April 15, 2021 (four-week summer program).

2. May 15, 2021 (entry in September 2021).

3. September 15, 2021 (entry in December 2021).

4. November 15, 2021 (entry in March 2022).

The center entrusts an expert group to conduct centralized evaluation: according to HSK and HSKK test scores and levels, taking into account factors such as country, the scholarship evaluation will be completed and the evaluation results will be announced about 3 months before enrollment.

About the Chinese Bridge winners

Those who have won the 2021 "International Chinese Teacher Scholarship" in various Chinese Bridge competitions, log on to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship website and submit application materials to our school with the scholarship certificate.

Application materials

Common materials submitted by all applicants:

1. Scanned copy of passport photo page

2. Scanned copy of HSK and HSKK score report (valid for two years)

3. Recommendation letter issued by the person in charge of the recommending institution

4. The highest degree certificate (or proof of expected graduation)

Other materials to be submitted when applying for a degree course:

(1) Postgraduates majoring in Chinese as an international education

Scanned copy of the undergraduate transcript
Recommendation letters from two tutors with titles of associate professor and above.
Study plan (including resume, Chinese level and learning experience, research plan during the master's degree course, employment goals after graduation, etc. It is required to be more than 800 words written in Chinese, scanned and uploaded to the "Educational Background" column )
Those who provide a work agreement for the teaching institution to be held after graduation will be given priority.

(2) Bachelor of Chinese International Education

Scanned copy of the transcript of the last academic qualification

Supplementary materials:

1. Applicants under the age of 18 must be formally entrusted by their parents to be a foreigner or Chinese in Beijing as the guardian of the student, and submit the notarized materials of the guardian's guarantee letter.

2. In-service Chinese teachers must also attach an in-service certificate and recommendation letter issued by the institution where they are employed.

Note

1. Those who provide false materials, or conceal the X1 and X2 visa records in their passports when applying for one-semester or four-week courses, will be immediately disqualified for the scholarship once verified, and the applicant shall bear all consequences arising therefrom.

2. The school may request students to provide other materials according to the situation.

Other

2. Students with academic qualifications must participate in the annual review. For details, please refer to the "Annual Review Method for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship"

3. Failure to register on time, failure to pass the entrance examination, dropout in the middle of school, suspension of scholarship, cancellation of scholarship qualifications.

4. Applicants can only apply for one type of scholarship provided by a Chinese government agency. Repeated applications will be deemed invalid. Once verified, the scholarship qualification will be canceled.
