Beijing Normal University is a comprehensive research-oriented university directly under the Ministry of Education
of China, with a long history of running a school and a profound cultural heritage. The comprehensive strength of the school's disciplines ranks among the top universities in China. 1. Admissions Major
Our school recruits undergraduates from all over the world in 37 majors in seven major categories and selects the best.
Undergraduates have a four-year schooling system and adopt Chinese teaching. Undergraduate graduates who meet the graduation requirements of their major within the prescribed time limit will be issued with a Beijing Normal University undergraduate diploma; for undergraduate graduates who meet the relevant provisions of Beijing Normal University for degree award, a bachelor's degree certificate for ordinary higher education graduates will be issued.
2. Application conditions
2.1 Applicants are willing to abide by Chinese laws and regulations and school rules and regulations, respect the customs of the Chinese people, have good morals, and are in good health.
2.2 In principle, applicants should be non-Chinese citizens who are between 18 and 40 years old and hold a valid ordinary passport of a foreign country; applicants who are still under 18 years old by September 1, 2021, must have a guardian in China.
2.3 If both or one of the applicant’s parents are Chinese citizens and settled in a foreign country, if the applicant has foreign nationality at birth, he/she should hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and the most recent 4 years (April 30, 2021) There is a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years within the deadline. The actual residence in a foreign country for 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to entry and exit signatures. For residents of Mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan who apply as foreign students after immigrating to a foreign country, the above requirements shall be followed.
2.4 The language ability of the applicant must meet the relevant professional requirements. To apply for the major of Chinese language and international Chinese education, the Chinese proficiency must reach 180 points at HSK Level 4; for other majors, the Chinese proficiency must reach 180 points at HSK Level 5.
2.5 Written exam-free qualifications. Applicants who meet one of the following conditions can apply for exemption from the written test in the entrance examination. The eligibility for exemption from the written examination is determined by the school.
The total score of SAT I is 1300 (inclusive) or more; three or more SAT II scores are required, and each course has a score of more than 400 (inclusive)
At least three HL courses, with a total score of 32 points or more (inclusive)
At least three A-Level courses, each with C or above
The total score is above 25 points (inclusive)
Academic ability test
The sum of the scores of the 3 main subjects is less than or equal to 15
All Nations University in Japan
Unified entrance examination
A total score of 560 points or more (the full score of the selected test is 900 points); a total score of 185 points or more (the full score of the selected test is 300 points); other selection methods shall be implemented according to the ratio of total score/full score
All subjects are above B4 and at least one subject reaches A1/A2
A total of more than 300 points in five subjects
The average score of each subject is above 6.0
Undergraduate students or graduate students or other materials that can prove that they have the same learning ability, such as national or regional unified high school graduation examination results or university Entrance examination results, etc.
Enrolled in a foreign senior high school with good grades, and provide academic level test scores for foreign senior high schools, etc.
Note: Applicants from the agreed institutions should apply by the requirements stipulated in the agreement.
3. Application time
3.1 Online application time:

3.2 Deadline for mailing paper materials:
March 20, 2021
The deadline for mailing is subject to the postmark before March 20th (inclusive), please send it before this date; applicants are requested to mail paper materials in time after passing the preliminary review.
4. The application process
4.1 Fill in and upload materials online. Log in to the Beijing Normal University International Student Online Service System http://apply.bnu.edu.cn. After successful registration, select "Undergraduates" or "Undergraduates without written test" in the learning item column of the system, fill in the registration information truthfully, and Upload all application materials as required by Article 5.
4.2 Fill in professional volunteers. When applying online to fill in the volunteers, you can fill in two professional volunteers, and the two majors must belong to the same examination category. Among them, applicants who apply for the Chinese language major and the Chinese international education major can apply for any other major at the same time, but they must meet the relevant professional requirements and take all the examinations of the two types of majors. Please refer to the undergraduate international student enrollment professional catalog for the examination category of each major.
4.3 Pay the registration fee. The registration fee is RMB 500, which must be paid online after submitting the registration information. The registration fee is non-refundable once paid.
4.4 Mail materials. After passing the preliminary examination, the applicant shall mail the paper application materials to the Admissions Office of the Academic Affairs Department of Beijing Normal University according to the requirements in Part 5 below.
5. Application materials
5.1 The original copy of "Beijing Normal University Application Form for International Undergraduate Students". After passing the preliminary review, download and print the admission application form in the registration system, and paste a recent photo (the photo must be the same as the electronic photo uploaded in the system) with a white background without a cap, signed by the applicant and the emergency contact person, but not signed The application form is deemed invalid.
5.2 Certificate of full-time high school diploma. Applicants who have graduated should provide the original or notarized copy of the certificate of high school diploma; fresh high school graduates should provide the original certificate of expected graduation, present the original high school graduation certificate when entering the journal, and submit a copy of the high school graduation certificate.
5.3 Original transcripts of all courses in high school.
5.4 Copy of HSK score certificate. The test time on the HSK score certificate shall not be earlier than November 1, 2018.
5.5 Letter of recommendation. A letter of recommendation issued by the teacher, headteacher, or school leader in the high school.
5.6 Personal statement. Please download the template and write in Chinese. Printed version is not accepted.
5.7 Guarantee. Please download the template and fill it out and be signed by the guarantor.
5.8 A copy of the first page of the passport. Those who have come to China must provide a copy of the visa page or residence permit page of the recent visit to China. Applicants who meet the requirements of Article 3 of the aforementioned application conditions must also provide the following materials:
(1) Copies of the entry and exit signature pages of the most recent 4 years (April 30, 2017 to April 30, 2021), the originals are available for inspection;
(2) Proof of study abroad in the last 4 years;
(3) Applicants from the mainland of the motherland (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents who have obtained foreign nationality after immigrating must provide a certificate of naturalization from a foreign country, a certificate of cancellation of the original Chinese household registration, and a certificate of renunciation of Chinese nationality in addition to the above two types of materials.
5.9 Applicants under the age of 18 must submit the original notarization of the guardian in China issued by the local notary office.
5.10 Copies of other supporting materials, such as award certificates, unified or standardized test scores, certificates, etc.
5.11 Applicants who are exempt from the written examination must submit corresponding examination certificates, diplomas, and transcripts that meet the requirements for exemption from the written examination.
★ The above application materials must be in Chinese or English. If the materials are not in Chinese or English, the original translation and notarized copy must be provided.
★ If the online application materials or paper materials are incomplete, and the application fee is not paid, the application will be invalid.
★ All submitted paper application materials will not be returned.
6. Exam Arrangement
6.1 Entrance examination
The entrance examination includes two parts: a written examination and an interview.
The content of the written test includes a comprehensive ability test, writing, English or mathematics, English for Chinese history and art majors, and mathematics for science and engineering majors. For specific test content, please refer to the catalog of undergraduate international students enrollment.
Applicants who are exempt from written examination will get the results of the examination before the Entrance examination. Those who pass the examination can be exempted from the written examination and only need to participate in the interview.
The examination method will be determined according to the local epidemic prevention and control situation, and the specific arrangement will be notified to the applicant in time through the system and email after the confirmation.
6.2 Entrance examination time
The entrance examination time is April 10-11, 2021. Please pay attention to the notification in the registration system for specific examination arrangements and requirements.
Applicants who meet the registered requirements of the major will be selected by the school based on their Entrance examination results to determine the list of admissions. The school will notify applicants of the admission results through the registration system and email in May 2021. Please pay attention to it in time. In June 2021, the school will send the admission materials by mail.
The tuition fees for literature and history: 12,400 yuan/semester, 24,000 yuan/academic year;
Tuition fees for science, engineering and art majors: 14,250 yuan/semester, 27,700 yuan/academic year;

10. Accommodation and Visa
