Hold "China Cup" Calligraphy Competition
In order to spread Chinese traditional culture and enhance foreign students’ understanding of Chinese calligraphy, the 2018 "Cup in China" Calligraphy Competition for Foreign Students in Beijing Colleges and Universities hosted by the Foreign Student Work Research Association of Beijing Higher Education Association and undertaken by China Central Academy of Fine Arts was held on December 8.
Held in the Multifunctional Hall of Building 5. Pan Fangfang, Director of the International Division of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Wang Xiaolin, Deputy Dean of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Cai Mengxia, teacher of the Calligraphy Department of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Tie Changsheng, Secretary-General of the Foreign Student Work Research Association of Beijing Higher Education Association, and Li Bing, Deputy Secretary-General attended the event and presented awards to the winning students.
The competition attracted 52 foreign students from 31 universities in Beijing and from more than 30 countries to actively participate. The overseas students used the first characters of the titles of all the works written by the master of Chinese martial arts novels, Mr. Jin Yong, "Flying Snow Shoots the White Deer, and the Laughing Man Relies on the Bi Yuan" couplets.
Horizontal, vertical, shifting, pressing, strokes are chic and stretched. International students experience the unique charm of Chinese calligraphy and show the fruitful results of learning Chinese.
The high-quality calligraphy works amazed the expert judges. The organizational design and venue of this competition are strong. The academic atmosphere also made the teachers and students of the brother colleges present to give high praise to the education and management of foreign students of China Central Academy of Fine Arts.
