Evaluation Rules for Outstanding International Students Scholarship of Changsha University of Science and Technology

 

1. One General Provisions

 

1. In order to implement my country's policies on the education of foreign students in China, promote the overall improvement of the overall quality of foreign students in China, and cultivate high-quality talents who know China and friends in China, these measures are formulated in accordance with the relevant regulations of the state and Hunan Province.

 

2. The evaluation of scholarships for outstanding international students in China is mainly based on three aspects: daily performance, academic performance and innovation ability evaluation.

 

3. These Measures are applicable to full-time undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students who come to China to study in China, and those who have been studying for more than one year.

 

4. Scholarship settings:The scholarships for outstanding international students in China are divided into first, second, third and individual awards; the number of sports awards is determined by the International College according to the actual situation.

 

2. Evaluation of Basic Quality

 

 5. Daily performance (G1) test scores are: learning attitude, physical and mental health, civilized behavior, etc. (Those who fail the daily performance test shall not participate in the scholarship evaluation). The basic contents of the above three aspects are as follows:

 

1. Attitude to study

 

The learning goals are clear, modest, studious, hardworking, respectful of teachers, absent from class and late for no reason, help classmates, and actively participate in teaching and scientific research activities.

 

2. Physical and mental health

 

Establish awareness of physical and mental health, establish good interpersonal relationships, and actively participate in extracurricular sports activities, sports competitions and various cultural, artistic and entertainment activities. Love labor and pay attention to hygiene.

 

3. Civilized behavior

 

Abide by Chinese laws and public order, earnestly perform school discipline, school rules, and dormitory management regulations, and have no violations of law or discipline.

 

The basic quality assessment is mainly performed by the International Student Affairs Office and the class leader and classmates. The total score is 100 points. The International Student Affairs Office accounts for 40%, the class leader assessment accounts for 20%, and the classmate assessment accounts for 40%.

 

 6. If one of the following situations occurs, the daily performance will be unqualified:

 

1. Violation of laws and regulations and has been punished by judicial or public security organs;

 

2. Violation of school discipline and school rules will be punished;

 

3. Those who improper words and deeds have caused adverse social impacts on the school or the collective.

 

7. If there is one of the following conditions, the daily performance will be deducted:

 

1. Absent a class without asking for leave; 2 points will be deducted each time (late or leave 2 times, it will be counted as one absence).

 

2. Failure to fulfill the leave formalities, absence of various meetings, cultural and sports activities; 2 points will be deducted each time.

 

3. Failure to pass the various inspections of the International Student Dormitory will be deducted 2 points each time.

      

3. Academic Performance Evaluation

 

 8. The academic performance (G2) is scored based on the average score of international students. The calculation formula is: G2=(Xi×Yi) Sum/Yi Sum. in:

 

Xi-The scores of each subject that participated in the assessment (all in the form of a hundred-point system).

 

Yi-credits for the corresponding homework.

 

If there is a student who has failed the assessment course in this academic year, it is deemed that the student's academic performance assessment has failed, and he is not eligible to participate in the assessment of academic scholarship.

  

 4. Evaluation of Innovation Ability

 

9. Innovative ability (G3) refers to the achievements in academic, sports, cultural or social activities obtained by students through their respective specialties and creative spirit during the year. The school encourages international students to actively participate in various academic, sports, cultural, or social activities at all levels, in order to understand Chinese culture and promote mutual communication.

 

10. International students who participate in various academic, sports, cultural or social activities at all levels or serve as the heads of various groups and student organizations at all levels can receive corresponding bonus points. The accumulated bonus points cannot exceed 20 points, which are included in the student's total score. You can also participate in individual scholarships. Individual scholarships are divided into academic stars, sports stars, literary stars, social activities stars and growth stars.

 

11. Participating in the same type of competition (activity) gets the best score plus points, and no accumulative points are allowed. Participate in multiple competitions or hold multiple positions, according to the first 10 highest award-winning ranking or the highest position plus points, the second item plus 20% points, and thereafter by 2% decremental points.

 

12. In case of falsification in the evaluation of innovation ability and false reporting of results, all bonus points will be deducted after verification, and the evaluation of basic quality shall be deemed as unqualified.

 

13. The bonus points for Academic Stars are as follows:

 

1. Participate in various academic competitions (activities) according to the international level (including national level), provincial level, municipal level, and school level plus 3 points, 2 points, 1.5 points, and 1 point.

 

2 Winners participating in the above-level competitions (activities) will add points according to the first prize (including the special prize), the second prize, and the third prize multiplied by the coefficients of 2, 1.5 and 1.2 respectively.

 

3. For academic papers published in provincial, national core, and international academic journals, add 1 point, 2 points, and 4 points respectively. The editor-in-chief and co-edited academic journals will add 3 points and 15 points respectively; single author and co-authored academic journals will add 4 points and 2 points respectively.

 

4. For school-level, municipal, provincial, national, and international-level subject research and scientific and technological inventions (subject to the corresponding appraisal), 0.5 points, 1 point, 2 points, 3 points, and 6 points will be added respectively.

 

5. Those who have passed the HSK test in the school year will receive 1 point, 2 points, 3 points, and 4 points for HSK3, HSK4, HSK5, and HSK6 respectively.

 

6. The academic star can be directly awarded if the academic year average score exceeds 90 points or the GPA exceeds 3.5.

 

14. The standard for bonus points of Sports Stars is as follows:

 

1. The head coach of the school sports meet will add 1 point, the coaches and captains of each individual sports team will each add 0.8 points, and the participants will add 0.2 points;

 

2. Winners (including coach captains) participating in various competitions (including group events) will receive 2 points, 1.6 points, 1.2 points, 0.8 points, 0.6 points, and 0.4 points according to the award-winning ranking (first to eighth). , 0.3 points, 0.2 points.

 

15 The extra points for literary stars are as follows:

 

1. Participate in various cultural activities in accordance with international level (including national level), provincial level, municipal level, school level, and college level, plus 3 points, 2 points, 1.5 points, 1 point, and 0.2 points respectively.

 

2. Winners participating in the above-level competitions (activities) will add points according to the first prize (including the special prize), the second prize, and the third prize multiplied by the coefficients of 2, 1.5 and 1.2 respectively.

 

3. The cultural activities are reported by the news media, and points are multiplied by coefficients of 1.6, 1.4, and 1.2 at the international level (including the national level), the provincial level, and the municipal level respectively.

 

4. Team leaders of more than 5 people who participate in international (including national), provincial, and municipal activities will add 1.5 points, 1 point, and 0.5 points respectively.

 

16. The extra points for social activity stars are as follows:

 

1. rticipate in various social activities according to the international level (including the national level), provincial, municipal, school, and college levels, plus 3 points, 2 points, 1.5 points, 1 point, and 0.2 points respectively;

 

2. Winners participating in the above-level competitions (activities) will add points according to the first prize (including the special prize), the second prize, and the third prize multiplied by the coefficients of 2, 1.5 and 1.2 respectively;

 

3. The person in charge of each first-level association and student organization adds 2 points, and other team members in charge add 1 point. The person in charge of the second-level association and student organization (including class leader and floor leader) adds 1 point, and other responsible team members add 0.5 point;

 

4. If the number of participants is 200, 500, or 1,000, multiply the points by the coefficients of 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 respectively. The event was reported by the news media, and points were multiplied by coefficients of 1.6, 1.4, and 1.2 at the international level (including the national level), the provincial level, and the municipal level, respectively.

 

17. Growth Star: Although there is no outstanding achievement but actively participate in various competitions, the individual scholarship of Growth Star can be directly awarded for encouragement.

    

 5. Evaluation Organization and Evaluation Procedure

 

 18. Establish a leading group for comprehensive evaluation of student quality (hereinafter referred to as the leading group for evaluation), and set up a class evaluation team for each class. The evaluation leading group is composed of 3 to 5 people, with the deputy dean of the International School as the group leader, the deputy dean in charge of teaching as the deputy group leader, and the International Student Affairs Office as the basic members. The evaluation team listens to the report of the International Student Affairs Office or the monitor, supervises the evaluation process and adjudicates any objections during the evaluation process.

 

19. When each class conducts daily performance (G1) evaluation, the International Student Affairs Office will hold a democratic evaluation meeting for evaluation, and the specific score calculation will be completed by the class evaluation team.

 

20. Curriculum performance (G2) evaluation is calculated by the class evaluation team, and the calculation process and results are subject to the supervision and review of the evaluation leading group.

 

21. The extra points for innovation ability (G3) shall be provided by the students themselves and submitted to the International Student Affairs Office for appraisal, and the extra points will be determined as appropriate. The additional points for social work are determined by the department and the evaluation leading group of the college where the student is located.

 

22. The above evaluation results are calculated and summarized by the class evaluation team, and after the student's signature is confirmed, they will be reported to the college’s evaluation leading group for final review and announcement. If there is any objection, it should be raised to the college’s evaluation leading group within one week of the announcement of the evaluation result, and the college’s evaluation leading group shall deal with it within three days.

 

 6. Evaluation Results and Application

 

23. The final result (G) of the comprehensive evaluation of students in each academic year is the sum of the total scores of the daily performance evaluation, the total evaluation scores of the course academic performance, and the cumulative total of the innovation achievements, that is, G=G1+G2+G3.

 

24. The evaluation results shall be used as the main basis for the evaluation of various awards and scholarships in each academic year, as well as the basis for recommendation to employers. Those who fail to pass the course academic performance test or the basic quality test are not allowed to participate in the award evaluation.

 

25. The application materials shall be paper-based, including:

 

1. "Changsha University of Science and Technology Scholarship Application Form for Outstanding International Students in China" filled out by me;

 

2. A summary of my study, life, and activity experience during the scholarship review week;

 

26. The International Academy is responsible for the interpretation of this evaluation method.

 

 27. These Measures shall be implemented from the date of promulgation.
