Chinese Government Scholarship

In order to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and the people of the world, and to develop exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries in various fields, the Chinese government has established scholarships to subsidize outstanding students, teachers, and scholars from all over the world to study or conduct research in Chinese universities. The Ministry of Education of China has entrusted the China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the "China Scholarship Council") to be responsible for the enrollment and management of Chinese government scholarship students.

Projects are divided into Type A and Type B. Type A applicants apply through the applicant's home country, relevant organizations or embassies abroad; Type B students apply directly to colleges and universities. Our school is one of the institutions that recruit Chinese government scholarship students.

Types and contents of scholarships

1. Full scholarship: free tuition, free on-campus double dormitory, comprehensive medical insurance, living expenses (standard: master's degree students: 3,000 yuan/month; doctoral students: 3,500 yuan/month).

2. Partial scholarship: one or several items of the full scholarship.

Applicant qualifications

1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;

2. Applicants for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35; applicants for a doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40.

 

Language requirements:

Applicants for English-taught courses must provide proof of English proficiency, with a score of 80 for TOEFL and 6.5 for IELTS. If an English test certificate cannot be provided, an English language test or interview is required (time: after May 15). Applicants whose mother tongue is English can be exempted from providing the above-mentioned English proficiency certificate.

Applicants for Chinese-taught courses can only apply if their Chinese proficiency has reached at least HSK Level 4 of the Chinese Proficiency Test. If you have reached HSK Level 5 (inclusive) or above in Chinese, you can directly enter professional learning. Applicants who have not reached HSK Level 5 can apply for one-year Chinese tuition, and only after they meet the Chinese proficiency requirements can they enter professional learning; applicants who use Chinese in the previous stage of teaching must provide relevant certifications, and approved by our school. Exempt from providing HSK scores.

Not receiving any other Chinese government scholarships at the same time.

 

Application process

1. Applicants log in to the “Online Application System for Studying in China by the China Scholarship Council” ( after logging into https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn, click on the “Online Application Student Entrance” icon to enter), fill in the application information, and enroll students at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications The organization code is 10617, and the project category is B. Prepare and submit corresponding materials in accordance with the requirements of the "application materials" list. After completing the online registration, print and sign the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" automatically generated by the system.

2. Applicants log in to the "Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications International Student Online Service System" ( https://cqupt.17gz.org/ ), select the project "Chinese Government Scholarship", fill in the application information, complete the online application and upload the application materials, including signature Version of "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form".

 

Application materials:

1. Electronic photos;

2. Notarized highest education certificate and transcript. If the applicant is a current student, he/she must submit the pre-graduation certificate (including the pre-graduation date) and transcripts issued by the school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

3. Personal statement, including study plan or research plan in China. Written in Chinese or English;

4. 2 letters of recommendation. Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English;

5. A photocopy of the first page of a valid passport (valid until at least March 30, 2021);

6. Proof of no criminal record;

7. A copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form". Download in the attachment, fill in English or Chinese. Foreigner Physical Examination Form.pdf

Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" to conduct inspections. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person posted, or is not stamped with a seam seal on the photo, and is not signed and stamped by the doctor or the hospital is invalid. The inspection result is valid for 6 months;       

8. Proof of English or Chinese proficiency (if any, please provide);

9. Other materials, such as awards, published papers, etc. (if any, please provide);

10. If you are studying in China, please provide proof of your performance in China.

 

Please note:

√ No need to provide the pre-admission notice of the tutor. After receiving the student's application materials, the Admissions Office will forward the application materials to the relevant professional college or tutor according to the student's professional situation.

√Regardless of whether you are admitted or not, the application materials will not be returned;

√We will contact you by mail, so please be sure to fill in your email address, phone number, mailing address, etc. accurately;

√ In addition to the above materials, the school has the right to ask you to provide other materials according to the specific situation.

 

Other

1. Scholarship qualifications will not be reserved for those who cannot come to China to study within the enrollment period;

2. Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change the admission institution, major of study, and study period stated in the "Admission Notice" after coming to China;

3. Scholarship recipients must participate in the annual scholarship review as required. Those who fail the review will be suspended or terminated.
