Bilateral Programs Scholarship

 

"Country-specific Bilateral Programs" are full scholarships or partial scholarships based on educational cooperation and exchange agreements or consensus reached between China and relevant governments, institutions, schools, and international organizations.

1. The country-specific bilateral programs can recruit undergraduates, Postgraduate, Ph.D. students, General scholars and Senior scholars. For specific enrollment categories in each country, please consult the foreign student dispatching department of your country;

2. The Scholarship funding period is the length of study determined at the time of admission, including the period of professional study and Chinese language tuition (preparatory course), and cannot be extended in principle;

3. The language of instruction for undergraduates studying in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship is Chinese. The language of instruction for postgraduates and advanced students studying in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship is generally Chinese, and some schools can provide English instruction for some majors.

 

Scholarship content

●One or more items in the full scholarship.

 

Application method and time

Applicants should apply to the international student dispatching department of their home country within the specified time. The application time is generally from early January to early April. For the specific application time, please check with the international student dispatching department of your home country.

 

Application conditions

1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;

2. Educational background and age requirements:

●Applicants who come to China to study undergraduate majors must have a high school diploma, excellent grades, and be under the age of 25;

●Applicants who come to China to study for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35;

●Applicants who come to China to study for a doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40;

●As a general scholar, applicants must have a high school diploma or above and be under 45 years old;

●As a Senior Scholar, applicants must have a master's degree or above or associate professor or above, and be under 50 years old.

 

Application process

1. Applicants must first obtain the enrollment information of the country-specific bilateral program from the international student dispatching department of their home country and submit the application as required;

2. Applicants who are recommended by the international student dispatch department of their home country must contact the scholarship institution by themselves and obtain the pre-admission notice issued by the school;

3. Applicants recommended by the international student dispatch department of their home country must log in to "Online Application System for Studying in China by China Scholarship Council", Fill in the application information online, submit and print the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" online;

4. Applicants must prepare corresponding materials according to the requirements of the following "application materials" list, and submit them to the international student dispatch department of their home country within the specified time;

5. The China Scholarship Council only accepts applications from candidates recommended by international student dispatching departments, and does not accept direct applications from individual students. If the applicant has obtained the pre-admission notice from the school, the CSC will make arrangements accordingly; if the applicant has not obtained the pre-admission notice, the CSC has the right to make necessary adjustments to the institution to which it applies.

Note: "Online Application System for Studying in China by China Scholarship Council" operating instructions and "Accepting Agency Number" must be consulted and obtained from the overseas student dispatching department of the country.

 

Application materials (all in duplicate)

1. "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" (filled in Chinese or English);

2. Notarized highest education certificate. If the applicant is a student at school, he must also submit a certificate of enrollment issued by the school he is attending. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

3. Academic transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

4. Study or research plan in China. (Not less than 200 words for undergraduates, no less than 500 words for advanced students, no less than 800 words for graduate students), written in Chinese or English;

5. Letter of recommendation. Applicants for master's or doctoral degree and applicants for studying in China as Senior Scholar must submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English;

6. Students who apply for music majors must submit CDs of their own works; students who apply for fine arts majors must provide 2 sketches, 2 color paintings and 2 CDs of other works;

7. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China;

8. Applicants who have studied in China for more than 6 months must submit "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" Photocopy (the original is kept by yourself, this form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department and must be filled in in English). Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" to conduct inspections. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or the photo is not stamped with a seam seal, is not signed and stamped by a physician or hospital, is invalid. In view of the fact that the examination result is valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly;

9. If you have obtained the pre-admission notice issued by the host institution of the Chinese Government Scholarship student, please attach it to the application materials;

10. If you have obtained the HSK score report, please also attach it to the application materials.

Note: Please bind all application materials into a book (two volumes in one type) in the upper left corner in the above order. Regardless of whether you are admitted or not, the application materials will not be returned.

 

Admission and notification

1. The China Scholarship Council is responsible for reviewing whether scholarship applicants meet the application requirements and whether the submitted application materials are complete. Applicants who do not meet the requirements or application materials that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted;

2. The China Scholarship Council is responsible for transferring the approved application materials to the relevant schools for admission. The China Scholarship Council has the right to make appropriate adjustments to the school, major, Funding category, scholarship period, etc. selected by the applicant in accordance with the scholarship funding requirements of various countries, the receiving capacity of the scholarship institution, the professional academic system requirements and the applicant's conditions, etc. The admission result is determined by the school. For the application materials with the pre-admission notice of the school, the China Scholarship Council will directly send the pre-admission college to confirm the admission;

3. Applicants who have been admitted by the scholarship institution can receive the Chinese government scholarship to study in China after being approved by the China Scholarship Council. Each scholarship recipient can only receive funding from one Chinese government scholarship program;

4. The China Scholarship Council will send the "Admission List", "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Studying Abroad in China" (JW201 Form) to the Chinese Embassy (or Consulate-General) before July 31. ), which will forward the above-mentioned documents to the international student dispatching departments or the students themselves;

5. After coming to China, scholarship recipients are not allowed to apply for changing the admission institutions, majors and duration of study specified in the "Admission Notice" in principle;

6. Scholarship qualifications will not be reserved for those who cannot come to China to study within the time limit for admission.
