The Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was established in 1978. It was established with the personal approval of Deng Xiaoping and Ye Jianying and was directly affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the highest academic institution and comprehensive research center for humanities and social sciences in my country. It is also the earliest graduate school established in my country. Its main task is to train doctoral and master students in various disciplines of humanities, philosophy and social sciences. After more than 30 years of construction and development, a complete set of postgraduate education and training systems and mechanisms has been initially formed, from enrollment to postgraduate education and training, and degree awarding. The school model of "teaching, centralized management and unified management".

 

Since the establishment of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, under the kind care of the Party Central Committee and the direct leadership of the Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, relying on the strong research force and teacher resources of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the graduate education and training have achieved sustained and healthy development, and it has become a A modern graduate school with sound organizational structures such as the professor committee, academic committee, and degree evaluation committee, with 6 teaching and research departments and 40 teaching schools and departments. There are 616 doctoral supervisors and 989 master supervisors.

 

The Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is the first-class graduate school with the most complete set of humanities and social sciences in China. As of the end of 2017, it has 15 first-level disciplines for doctoral degree authorization, 17 for master's degree authorization, and 111 second-level disciplines for doctoral degree authorization. (Including 21 doctoral degree authorization points independently set up), 117 master degree authorization points (including 21 master degree authorization points independently set up), as well as Master of Public Administration, Master of Business Administration, Master of Laws, Master of Social Work, Master of Finance, Master of Taxation, Master of Cultural Relics and Museums, 7 professional degree authorization sites, newly established the eighth professional degree program-"Chinese International Education" professional degree, and through the integration of its own existing education and teaching resources, established a business school, grammar The college and the school of public administration are three colleges. There are 5 key secondary disciplines in Beijing.

 

The Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is actively opening to the outside world, developing foreign education and academic exchanges and cooperation in many ways, and has established exchanges and cooperation with many universities and academic research institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom and more than a dozen countries as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Since 1985 began to recruit overseas advanced students, in 1997, began to recruit foreign students for doctoral and master's degrees, and since 2000, began to recruit doctoral and master students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the scale of enrollment of foreign students and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students has continued to expand, and the quality of postgraduate training has continued to improve.

 

In 2017, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, based on itself, formally established the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It enrolled 392 undergraduates for the first session, and scored 613 in liberal arts and 626 in science in the college entrance examination in Beijing.

 

There are currently more than 4,100 postgraduates in the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, including 61 postgraduates from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and 28 overseas postgraduates. As of the end of 2017, the Graduate School had awarded 5149 doctorate degrees, 6393 master degrees, and 4569 master degrees. A large number of successful graduate students have also been trained. After completing their studies, these high-level specialized talents went to various fronts and quickly grew into an important backbone force for promoting economic construction, deepening theoretical exploration, promoting academic research, and driving social development.

 

The successive deans of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences are Zhou Yang, Wen Jize, Hu Sheng, Jiang Liu, Pu Shan, Fang Keli, Li Tieying, Wu Yin, and Liu Yingqiu. The current deans are Huang Xiaoyong.
