Chinese Government Scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship (Guizhou University Project) is a full scholarship provided by the Chinese government to directly select and recruit outstanding foreign young students to study for a graduate degree at Guizhou University.
Funding category, duration, and language of instruction
This project only enrolls graduate students and doctoral students. The duration of a master's degree is 3 years, and the duration of a doctor's degree is 4 years;
The teaching language is Chinese. Applicants with a Chinese learning experience are preferred. Applicants who do not meet the required Chinese proficiency can also apply. They must take one year of Chinese tutoring at Guizhou University, and the minimum required to pass the HSK level 4 can enter the professional study. The scholarship period includes the period of professional study and Chinese language tuition.
1. Applicant requirements
1.1 Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;
1.2 Students who are not studying in China (graduates in China must graduate more than one year);
1.3 Educational background and age requirements:
Applicants for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35;
Applicants for a doctorate must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40.
2. Scholarship content
Exemption of registration fee and tuition fee;
Provide free on-campus accommodation;
Provide a scholarship for living expenses (Ph.D. ￥3500/month, Master’s ￥3000/month);
Provide comprehensive medical insurance for international students.
3. Application process
3.1 Applicants login to the Chinese Government Scholarship Study Abroad Management Information System www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or www.campuschina.org to complete the online application. Click "Online Registration Student Portal", register a personal account, fill in the application form truthfully, accurately, and completely in Chinese or English and upload relevant "Supplementary Materials". It should be noted that the type of study abroad program is Category B, and the institution code of Guizhou University is 10657.
3.2 Check the application information carefully and click "Submit" after confirming that it is correct (the application is only valid in the "Submitted" state). After applying, print out two scholarship application forms and mail them to Guizhou University along with the copies of other "Supplementary Materials" (in duplicate). Materials should include:
"Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship";
A valid passport page and 3 passport photos;
Notarized highest education certificate (new graduates submit proof of enrollment and expected graduation certificate);
Academic transcripts of the highest academic qualifications (doctorate applicants should submit transcripts during the undergraduate and master degree);
Study or research plan (no less than 800 words);
Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors;

If you have an HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) certificate, please also provide it.
Note 1: All the above materials should be provided in Chinese or English. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

Note: The application materials must be received by Guizhou University before April 20, 2017, overdue invalid. 3.4 The application review and admission process for the Chinese Government Scholarship will take several months. During this process, Guizhou University may contact the applicant for a telephone interview or request additional information. The final scholarship admission list is expected to be confirmed in July. After that, our school will notify the scholarship winners by phone and email, and send the Chinese government scholarship admission materials.
