Guizhou Province Southeast Asia Scholarship
1. Major and language of instruction
1.1 The study time for undergraduate majors is 4 years, for master's degree students is 3 years, and for doctoral students is 4 years. Generally speaking, the study time for Chinese language students is one year.
1.2 Guizhou University undergraduate, master, and doctoral degree program catalog.
1.3 The language of instruction for degree majors is Chinese. Applicants whose Chinese level does not reach HSK Level 4 must choose to take one-year Chinese tuition at Guizhou University when applying. Only those who pass the HSK exam can enter professional studies.
2. Application requirements
2.1 Applicants must be citizens of Southeast Asian countries, in good health, and have no records of bad behavior;
2.2 Students applying for an undergraduate degree must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 30. Applicants for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years of age; those who apply for a doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be under 40 years of age.
3. Scholarship content
3.1 This scholarship program is a full scholarship or partial scholarship jointly provided by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education and Guizhou University to international students from Southeast Asian countries. Applicants can choose to apply for full or partial scholarships.
3.2 Full scholarship: exemption of tuition, on-campus accommodation, medical insurance, living allowance: 1000 yuan/month for undergraduates, 1200 yuan/month for master's students, and 1500 yuan/month for doctoral students. The full scholarship supports applications for undergraduates, master's, and doctoral students. The scholarship period includes the period of professional study and Chinese language tuition.
3.3 Partial scholarships: tuition fees and on-campus accommodation fees are waived. Some scholarships support the application of Chinese language students, undergraduates, and master's students.
4. How to apply
4.1 Check the professional catalog of Guizhou University's undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs, choose the major that suits you and want to learn.
4.2 Prepare the following application materials accurately and completely:
Guizhou Province Scholarship Application Form for International Students;
Physical Examination Form for Foreigners;
Passport photo page;
Proof of the highest degree;
Highest academic transcript;
Study/research plan (over 600 words for undergraduates, over 1000 words for masters and doctoral students);
Students who apply for art and music majors need to provide their own representative paintings or music works;
Certificates of awards or other achievements (if any);

4.4 The scholarship application is jointly reviewed by Guizhou University and the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. The scholarship admission result will be announced in July 2017. Before this, Guizhou University may contact the applicant for a telephone interview or request additional information. To determine the admission of scholarship students, Guizhou University will mail the scholarship admission notice and the application form for a study visa (JW202) to China before August 2017, so that freshmen can register at Guizhou University in September.
