Non-academic items

 

Advanced students:

☆The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport. Residents of Mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan after immigrating abroad, as foreign students, applicants must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and the most recent 4 years (April 2020) The record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years within 30 days (the actual residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as 1 year).

 

☆Be healthy and comply with the laws of the People's Republic of China and the regulations of Jilin University. Applicants are between 18 and 60 years old. (Under the age of 18, a guardian letter of guarantee is required).

 

1. Senior scholar

Under the age of 55 and have obtained a master's degree or above, under the guidance of professors in our school, they are engaged in a special research or professional knowledge. In principle, the period of schooling is one year, and they can be extended as appropriate.

 

2. General scholars

Undergraduate and postgraduate students who are currently enrolled in our school shall take the corresponding courses of our school or study Chinese by the regulations. Mainly include the following two categories:

 

(1) Intercollegiate exchange students: According to the school-level or college-level exchange agreement signed between our school and foreign universities, students who come to our school to learn Chinese or take undergraduate courses as required, in principle, the exchange study period does not exceed one academic year.

Language requirements:

I. Majors taught in Chinese:

*Chinese and Chinese culture training program (non-academic): No language requirements.

*Public Diplomacy School: Applicants need to have a score of 180 or above in HSK Level 5 and a score of TOEFL550 (PBT), 213 (CBT), 79 (IBT), or IELTS 6.0 or above.

*Other majors: Applicants need to have a Chinese proficiency level of HSK4 with a score of 180 and above.

II. Majors taught in English:

*English preparatory program (non-degree): There is no language requirement.

*Other majors: the assessment is organized by the teaching unit.

(2) Scholarship students: Receive Chinese government scholarships or Confucius Institute scholarships to study Chinese or take undergraduate courses in our school.

 

3. Chinese language students (Chinese language and Chinese culture training program)

Applicants should have the equivalent of senior high school graduation or above in my country, and they need to submit a high school graduation certificate and transcript online.

If the school is postponed, there is no need to reapply online, but the school attendance rate and pass rate need to be submitted, and the extension of the study period does not need to pay the registration fee.

You can come to our school to learn Chinese and Chinese culture through group registration or individual application.

 

Preparatory students:

1. English preparatory program

Applicants should have the equivalent of senior high school graduation or above in my country, and they need to submit a high school graduation certificate and transcript online. One to two years of English preparatory education in our school. Those who have excellent grades and good performance will be recommended for undergraduate majors in our school.

 

2. International student (undergraduate) preparatory program

Applicants should have an academic qualification equivalent to my country’s senior high school graduation or above, high school graduation certificates and transcripts must be submitted online, and pass grades in each subject.

(1) Applicants for the one-semester program must reach HSK3 or above in Chinese.

(2) Applicants for one academic year program are not limited in Chinese proficiency, but they need to pass the admission interview organized by the International Education Institute.

 

Through intensive learning for one semester / academic year, students' Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing and related courses of the selected major have reached the entry-level of Chinese-taught undergraduate majors in Chinese universities. Those with excellent grades are first recommended to study for undergraduate majors at Jilin University or other high-level universities in China.
