Admissions Guide for Self-financed International Students

4. Applicant qualifications

4.1 Non-Chinese students in China, or students from countries where study visas have been opened;

4.2 Hold a valid foreign passport (for those who were originally Chinese citizens and later became foreign nationals, our school implements the Ministry of Education Foreign Affairs [2009] No. 83);

4.3 Degree and age requirements:

Applicants for Chinese language and undergraduate programs must have a high school graduation certificate, aged 16-25 years old (under 18 years old, a minor guardianship certificate is required);

Applicants for master's degree programs must have relevant professional bachelor's degree certificates, aged 20-35 years old;

Applicants for doctoral degree programs must have a relevant professional master's degree certificate, aged 20-45 years old;

4.4 Applicants for academic qualifications must hold a valid HSK (Level 4 180 points and above) certificate. Applicants who do not meet the required Chinese proficiency must take one-year Chinese tuition. The HSK certificate is obtained at a test center other than our school. Applicants must pre-register for the test at the test center of our school and meet the score requirements in the first semester after enrollment.

6. Application time:

7. Application

Log in to the online registration system http://lzjtu.17gz.org and upload scanned copies of the following application materials:

7.1 The first page of the passport within the validity period;

7.2 Visa page and entry and exit records (if any) of coming to China;

7.3 Notarized highest academic certificate and transcript (if it is in a language other than Chinese or English, a Chinese or English translation of the text must be submitted);

7.4 HSK Level 4 certificate with a score of 180 and above (only for degree students);

7.5 Applicants for "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners". The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or the photo is not stamped with a seam seal, is not signed and stamped by the doctor and the hospital is invalid. Because the examination result is valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly. (It must be filled in in English and can be downloaded from the website

7.6 Applicants for master's or doctoral degree must provide a research plan in China (more than 500 words);

7.7 Proof of no criminal record.

 

8. Admission and admission

After reviewing the applicant's application materials, the school will determine the admission result and notify the applicant within 10 working days (the admission result for the spring semester of the Chinese language program will be determined and notified to the applicant by January 15 at the latest). After receiving the admission result, the applicant must confirm within 5 working days and remit according to the account designated by the school or pay the registration fee of 400 yuan on site (the registration fee will not be refunded once it is paid). After successful payment, the school will send the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form to China (JW202 Form) within 15-20 working days. If the applicant fails to confirm the admission notice or pay the registration fee on time, our school will cancel the admission qualification.

The admission time is at the end of August or early September, and the admission time for the spring semester of the Chinese language program is around the end of February. The specific admission time is subject to the admission notice. Admitted students must go to Lanzhou Jiaotong University for registration and admission procedures strictly by the time specified in the admission notice. Those who fail to complete the enrollment procedures for more than two weeks after the prescribed enrollment time will be disqualified.

 

9. Annual review

The school will conduct a comprehensive review of students' academic performance, learning attitude, attendance record, school performance, rewards, and punishments by the requirements of the "Lanzhou Jiaotong University Annual Review of International Students" every year. Students with excellent annual review scores can apply for the Silk Road Special Scholarship of the year with priority based on meeting other application requirements.
