2020 Confucius Institute Council
On April 14, the 2020 Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia was held in a video format. President Liu Yichun, Vice President Han Dongyu, President of the University of Valencia Vicenta Mestre and Vice President Carles Badia attended the meeting in Changchun and Valencia respectively. A Wenlong, the foreign dean of the Confucius Institute, Gao Hongbo, the Chinese dean, Zhang Jingping, the director of the school’s international cooperation and exchange office, and related personnel attended the meeting. The council is chaired by An Wenlong.
Vicenta Mestre said that the Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia is the best in Spain. It has a far-reaching influence in the entire Spanish-speaking region and has played a key role in promoting substantive cooperation between the two universities. The University of Valencia will continue to escort the Confucius Institute and enhance Sino-Western friendship through language and cultural teaching.
Liu Yichun emphasized that the Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia is our school’s best overseas Confucius Institute. It has been awarded the title of “Global Model Confucius Institute”. Its printed and published Chinese-Spanish magazine "Confucius Institute" is promoting cross-cultural understanding between the two countries. The school has made important contributions in this regard, and the school will continue to support the construction and development of Confucius Institutes.
After listening to the annual work report and work plan of the Confucius Institute, Han Dongyu pointed out that under the normalization of the epidemic, the full implementation of the language teaching and cultural activities of the Confucius Institute benefited from the strong support of the University of Valencia and the support of all the staff of the Confucius Institute. Work together. In the future, the two universities need to continue to increase investment and deepen cooperation in the fields of a language major construction, cultural and artistic interaction, and joint academic research.
