A few days ago, our school, Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Hufre-X group (Botswana) jointly launched the "LoRaWAN standard-based IoT technology trajectory tracking equipment design and application research" project began to implement. This project is promoted by the Hufre-X group (Botswana) to promote scientific research cooperation between the universities of the two countries. According to the memorandum of cooperation signed on September 17, 2020, the three parties will carry out the Internet of Things system and smart agriculture, livestock tracking management, smart greenhouse and other fields Cooperation.
The three partners are a research team headed by Professor Hu Lihong from the School of Information Science and Technology of our school, a research team led by the President of the University of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Botswana as a consultant, Vice President Professor Sammodimo, and relevant personnel from Botswana's local innovative companies with rich experience in the communications industry Form a research group to jointly design the overall solution of the agricultural and animal husbandry Internet of Things intelligent system, including the main components of the system architecture-terminal nodes, cloud services and application services; in agriculture and animal husbandry intelligence through the Internet of Things technology Management system research and development, practice and application, research and development to establish an agricultural and animal husbandry IoT intelligent management system platform, to realize the agricultural and animal husbandry IoT intelligent management, product traceability, automated planting and breeding management, to achieve truly intelligent agriculture and animal husbandry The application of industry management will further promote the intelligent, high-efficiency, high-quality, and high-benefit development of the agricultural and animal husbandry industries in China and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Botswana gave relevant reports on the project and gave a high evaluation of the significance and prospects of the project. In this project, we have an in-depth understanding of the needs, combined with the specific local conditions in Botswana, and put forward practical and effective solutions to problems. The implementation of this cooperation project has not only opened up new channels for our school’s international scientific research cooperation, but also reached the agreement reached by the heads of China and Bosnia and Herzegovina that “the two sides should climb high and see far, enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, and elevate the relationship between the two countries to a new level. The strategic direction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, through practical cooperation, to jointly build a China-Boston and China-Africa community with a shared future and promote the rapid development of bilateral relations is of great significance.
