Undergraduate enrollment Guide

1. Project introduction

Nanjing University of Science and Technology is a "high-level, research-oriented, and international" domestic first-class comprehensive university with international influence. There are currently 13 professional colleges with 48 undergraduate majors for international students to apply for, covering disciplines such as engineering, science, economics, management, law, and literature. In the long-term development process, the school has formed a "1+3+6+N" leading discipline advantage. The four disciplines of engineering, chemistry, materials science, and computer science have entered the top 1% of ESI international disciplines. Among them, Engineering is in the top 1‰.

The undergraduate program is generally 4 years. Graduates of subjects and majors that use Chinese as the professional teaching language must meet the "International Chinese Language Proficiency Standards" or HSK Level 5; for graduates of subjects and majors that use English as the professional teaching language, their Chinese proficiency should reach at least the "International Chinese Language Proficiency Standards" or HSK Level 5. Chinese Proficiency Standards" or HSK Level Four.

 

2. Application conditions

(1) Non-Chinese citizens who are physically and mentally healthy, have a good academic background, consciously abide by Chinese laws and school rules and regulations, and respect the customs and habits of the Chinese people.

(2) Applicant's academic qualifications and age requirements

To apply for a bachelor's degree program, you should have a high school graduation certificate or equivalent academic qualification certificate (a high school graduation certificate must be obtained at the latest before enrollment), and the age should be no less than 18 years old and no more than 28 years old.

(3) Language requirements

Applicants who apply for Chinese-taught majors must have a Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) level 4 or above; applicants who apply for English-taught majors and whose educational language is not English must have a score of 5.5 or above in IELTS and 80 or above in TOEFL, Or Duolingo scores 85 points or more.

4. The application process

(1) Online application

After logging in to

http://admission.njust.edu.cn

or https://njust.17gz.org/,

follow the online instructions to fill in the required application information, upload the application materials online, and submit them online.

 

(2) Pay the application fee

Note: The application fee will not be refunded regardless of admission

 

5. Application materials

(1) Valid passport

(2) Transcript

High school transcripts containing all courses or copies of equivalent course transcripts and graduation certificates. Documents in languages other than Chinese and English must be provided with notarized Chinese or English translations. Note: If the applicant is a student who is already studying in Mainland China, he/she must also submit a certificate of enrollment and a certificate of consent to transfer issued by the school where he/she is studying.

(3) Proof of language score

Applicants for English-taught courses must provide copies of IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo transcripts;

Applicants for courses taught in Chinese must provide a copy of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) certificate.

(4) Self-statement

Submit a self-statement of your intention to study in China (not less than 800 words), written in Chinese or English. The content should include personal study, work experience, motivation to study in China, reasons for choosing a major, personal development goals after graduation, etc.

(5) Physical examination form for foreigners, which must be filled out in Chinese or English

Applicants should strictly follow the items of the foreigner's medical examination form for inspection. Applications that are missing, unsealed, or without the signature and seal of the physician shall be deemed invalid. Because the examination result is valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly.

(6) "Guarantee"

The guarantor’s financial ability certificate (in-service income certificate, bank deposit certificate or another financial ability certificate)

6. Registration time

To be determined. Admitted students must go to Nanjing University of Science and Technology to complete the registration procedures for freshmen according to the date and requirements specified in the admission notice. For specific information, please refer to the email and official website notice.

 

7. Expenses

(1) Application fee:

500 yuan (approximately US$80), regardless of admission or not, will not be refunded;

 

(2) Tuition fee:

Undergraduate courses taught in Chinese: 18,000 yuan/year (approximately 2600 US dollars/year)

Undergraduate courses taught in English: 19,800 yuan/year (approximately US$2850/year)

 

8. Scholarship

(1) Application conditions

Possess the qualifications for applying for the undergraduate program of our school to study in China

Did not receive any other forms of scholarship funding.

 

(2) Application process

Qualified undergraduate students studying in China should log in to the Nanjing University of Science and Technology International Student Online Application System (http://admission.njust.edu.cn or https://njust.17gz.org/) before the application deadline, and fill in online Scholarship application information, and send application documents via email. Electronic materials should be named after "passport surname_passport number_application number (2021…).pdf" and send to apply@njust.edu.cn

(3) Types of scholarships

Regardless of whether you are admitted or not, the application fee will not be refunded.

 

(4) Annual evaluation of scholarships

All award-winning students must participate in the annual comprehensive assessment of the scholarship between April and May of each year after enrollment to determine whether they are eligible to continue or resume the scholarship.
