Founded in 1954, Nanjing University Of Chinese Medicine is one of the earliest higher institutions of Chinese medicine in the country. It is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The school was selected as a national "Double First-Class" construction university in 2017. Constructing a university with Jiangsu high-level university, in 2018, it became a "double first-class" construction university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province. At the beginning of the establishment of the school, the school delivered the first batch of teachers for the training of higher education of Chinese medicine in New China, compiled and formulated the first set of teaching materials and syllabus, and made a pioneering work for the establishment and promotion of higher education of Chinese medicine in New China. The school is the first batch of doctoral and master's degree-granting units in the country. It has 4 first-level disciplines of Chinese medicine, Chinese pharmacy, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, and nursing, and 1 professional doctoral degree authorization point of Chinese medicine, 11 first-level disciplines, and master's degrees. 5 professional master's degree authorization sites, 3 post-doctoral research mobile stations. The school is the World Health Organization (WHO) Traditional Medicine Cooperation Center and the International Acupuncture Training Center. It is one of the first batches of higher TCM colleges approved by the Ministry of Education to accept and train foreign students and students from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. It has trained international students for five continents. More than 30,000 names. In 1993, the school cooperated with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia to set up the Chinese medicine major, which was the first time that my country cooperated with the Western regular universities to carry out Chinese medicine education.
