Northwest Normal University is a century-old school with 110 years of history of running a school. It is one of the 14 universities in the western region supported by the state and a key university jointly established by the province and the ministry. Northwest Normal University enjoys a high reputation for its strong faculty, hardworking style of study, perfect teaching and research facilities, and beautiful campus environment. The school is located in the geometric center of China's geographic map-Jincheng Lanzhou. It is the capital city of Gansu Province and the cultural and commercial center and transportation hub of the northwestern region. It is also a place where diverse ethnic cultures meet. The school began to enroll international students in 1982 and has enrolled more than 1,100 international students, which has been widely praised all over the world.

In 2013, entrusted by the Ministry of Education of China, Northwest Normal University recruited full-time Chinese government scholarship graduate students from all over the world.

3. Duration of study

2-3 years for master's students; 3-4 years for doctoral students.

 

4. Scholarship content

4.1 Exemption of registration fee and tuition fee;

4.2 Provide free accommodation on campus (Master students: double rooms; Ph.D. students: single rooms);

4.3 Provide living expenses (1,700 yuan/month for postgraduate students; 2,000 yuan/month for doctoral students);

4.4 Provide comprehensive medical insurance for foreign students in China;

4.5 Provide a one-time resettlement fee of 1,500 yuan.

 

5. Applicant qualifications

5.1 Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;

5.2 Non-students studying in China;

5.3 Degree and age requirements;

5.4 Applicants for a master's degree must have obtained a bachelor's degree (if you have not yet obtained a bachelor's degree but are expected to obtain it before enrollment, please provide written proof); applicants must be under 35 years old;

5.5 Applicants for a doctorate must have obtained a master's degree (if you have not yet obtained a master's degree but are expected to obtain it before enrollment, please provide written proof); applicants must be under 40 years old;

5.6 Those who are not recipients of other scholarships.

7. Application materials

Applicants must truthfully fill in and submit the following application materials:

7.1 "Northwest Normal University Chinese Government Scholarship Scholarship Application Form" (filled in Chinese or English);

7.2 A copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Record". (The original is kept by yourself). It must be filled out in English. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Foreigner Physical Examination Record" for inspection. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Record" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or the photo is not stamped with a seam seal, is not signed and stamped by the doctor and the hospital is invalid. Given that the examination results are valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly;

7.3 Proof of the highest degree. (Texts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations);

7.4 Academic transcripts. Original transcripts of all courses at the undergraduate or master level (texts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations);

7.5 Letter of recommendation. Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English);

7.6 Study or research plan in China. Applicants must submit a study or research plan written in Chinese or English. (Master's degree is no less than 800 words, the Ph.D. degree is no less than 1500 words);

7.7 Research results. Published papers, award certificates, and other materials that prove your academic achievements and research capabilities;

7.8 Proof of proficiency in English or Chinese. (Such as HSK certificate, TOEFL score certificate);

7.9 Copy of valid ordinary passport.

(Note: a. The above materials will not be returned regardless of admission; b. Incomplete materials will not be accepted; c. 1-9 application materials must be submitted in triplicate.)

 

8. Application procedure

Step 1: Log in to the following website to register online, the code of Northwest Normal University is: 10736
Chinese Government Scholarship Online Registration System.

Step 2: After completing the online registration, print the "Northwest Normal University Chinese Government Scholarship Scholarship Application Form" automatically generated by the system, and mail or entrust others to submit all application materials to the International Cultural Exchange College of Northwest Normal University office.

 

9. Admission and admission

9.1 Admission is based on the application materials and undergraduate grades. Admission materials should be sent before July 30.

9.2 The admission time is at the beginning of September each year, and the specific time is subject to the "Admission Notice". Admitted students must go to the office of the International Cultural Exchange College of Northwest Normal University to complete the registration procedures in strict accordance with the time specified in the admission notice. Those who fail to complete the enrollment procedures for more than three weeks after the prescribed enrollment time will be disqualified.
