Chinese Government Scholarship

The "Chinese Government Scholarship-University Independent Enrollment Project" is a full scholarship provided by the Chinese government to the provincial education administrative departments of some provinces and autonomous regions in China and some Chinese universities. It is used by some Chinese universities to directly select and recruit outstanding foreign young students. Hua learning.

(2) Scholarship content: including tuition, accommodation, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance.

2. Accommodation fee: According to school regulations, all Chinese government scholarship students must live on campus. The school provides free dormitories, usually double rooms;

3. Living expenses: Postgraduate and general scholars: RMB 3,000/month; Ph.D. students and senior scholars: RMB 3,500/month;

4. Comprehensive medical insurance is provided free of charge.

(4) Application conditions

1. Non-Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy;

2. Educational background and age requirements:

Those who come to China to study for a master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35 (born before January 1, 1985); those who come to China to study for a doctor’s degree must have a master’s degree and must be under 40 years of age (January 1980) Born before 1 day);

3. Applicant's language proficiency requirements:

Students applying for Chinese-taught majors must meet: HSK Level 4 with a score of 180 or more; applicants whose native language or official language is not English must meet one of the following requirements: IELTS 5.5 or more, TOEFL 80 or more, or Other equivalent English proficiency proof materials; proof that the previous degree provided by the previous degree institution is taught in English, or proof that you have studied in an English-speaking country for more than one year;

4. In principle, this scholarship program does not accept students who have studied in China; students who have studied in China for a degree must have graduated for more than one year.

2. Online application: log in to the "Chinese Government Scholarship to Study in China Management Information System" to fill in the application information, submit and print the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" online;

3. Submit application materials: Submit the application materials to Ocean University of China within the specified time (before April 7th each year).


(6) Application materials (all in duplicate)

1. "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" (Chinese or English);

2. Notarized highest education certificate. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

3. Academic transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

4. Study and research plans in China. Written in Chinese or English, no less than 800 words for graduate students;

5. Letter of recommendation. Applicants for master's or doctoral degree must submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English;

6. Students applying for music majors must submit CDs of their own works; students applying for fine arts majors must provide 2 sketches, 2 color paintings, and 2 CDs of other works;

7. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China;

8. A copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form". The original is kept by yourself. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department. It can be downloaded from the website of the China Scholarship Council http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or


It must be filled in in English. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" to conduct inspections. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" with missing items, no photo of the person posted, or no seal on the photo, and no signature and seal of the physician or hospital, is invalid. The inspection result is valid for 6 months;

9. If you have obtained the HSK score report, please attach the copy to the application materials;

10. Certificate of no criminal record.

Applicants must submit a certificate of no criminal record issued by the judicial department of their country. If the applicant is a school student or working staff, he can submit a certificate issued by his school or work unit to appraise his performance. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.


  • Please arrange the above materials in the above order and bind them into a book (two volumes in one type) in the upper left corner. No matter whether you are admitted or not, the application materials will not be returned;
  • All application materials must be complete, clear, true, and accurate. Incomplete application materials or failure to pay the application fee will not be accepted. After submitting the application, in principle, it is not allowed to modify or supplement the application materials. If it is inconsistent with the facts, Ocean University of China has the right to cancel its admission qualifications, and those who have already enrolled will cancel their student status;
  • The name, date of birth, place of birth, and other personal information filled in the application form must be consistent with the information on the passport information page;
  • Please provide an accurate phone number, email address, and correspondence address (including postal code);
  • Please check the email address registered during the online application regularly. We will notify you of important information such as interview time and scholarship results by email;
  • We may not be able to respond to email and telephone inquiries regarding the application status and admission process one by one. Thank you for your understanding and patience;
  •  The registration fee is not refundable.


(7) Admission and notification

1. Ocean University of China is responsible for reviewing application materials, interviewing, and determining candidates for admission;

2. Applicants who have been approved by the China Scholarship Council will be eligible for Chinese government scholarships to study in China;

3. Each scholarship recipient can only receive funding from one Chinese government scholarship program. For scholarship applicants who have been admitted to multiple universities at the same time, the China Scholarship Council will only reserve the scholarship qualification for one school;

4. The China Scholarship Council will send the "Admission List", "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 Form) to the admission institution, and Ocean University of China will mail the admission materials to the student;

5. Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their admission institutions, majors, and duration of study after coming to China;

6. Those who cannot come to the school to register within the specified time will not be eligible for the scholarship.
