Chinese government scholarship application method
The "Chinese Government Scholarship" is a full scholarship or partial scholarship provided by the Ministry of Education of China in accordance with the educational exchange agreements or understandings reached with relevant national governments, institutions, schools and relevant international organizations. The China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as "CSC") is responsible for the enrollment and daily management of Chinese government scholarship international students.

Chinese tuition is arranged before professional study. If the major can be directly taught in English, no Chinese tuition before major study (except for undergraduates) will be arranged. The duration of the scholarship is the length of study determined at the time of admission.
2. Application Channels and Application Time
Applicants should apply to the dispatching department of their home country or the Chinese embassy (consulate-general) in the country. The application time is generally from early January to early April.
3. Applicant qualifications
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health;
(2)Applicant's academic qualifications and age requirements:
- Those who come to China to study undergraduate majors must have a high school diploma, excellent grades, and be under the age of 25;
- Those who come to China to study for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35;
- Those who come to China to study for a doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40;
- As a Chinese language student coming to China to learn, you must have a high school diploma or above, and be under 35 years old;
- As a general advanced student who comes to China to study, he must have a sophomore degree or above and be under 45 years old;
- Those who come to China for research as senior scholars must have a master's degree or above or associate professor or above, and be under 50 years of age.
4. Scholarship content and criteria
(1) Full scholarship
- Registration fee, tuition fee, basic textbook fee and accommodation fee are exempted;
- Provide the same public medical services as Chinese students;
- The living expenses of the scholarship will be paid on a monthly basis, and the standard is (RMB/month):

b.1 Those who study in China for 6 months or less: 300 yuan (RMB)
b.2 Those who study in China for one academic year or more: 600 yuan (RMB)
(2) Partial scholarships: one or more of the full scholarships (excluding resettlement fees and one-time inter-city transportation expenses).
5. Application materials
Applicants must truthfully fill in and submit the following application materials:
- "Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship" (uniformly printed by the Scholarship Council), one original and one copy, filled in Chinese or English;
- Notarized highest education certificate. If the applicant is a school student or is already employed, he/she must also submit an enrollment certificate issued by the school or employment certificate issued by the employer. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with Chinese or English translations;
- Notarized high school examination transcripts (for undergraduate majors) or academic transcripts (for other types of students). Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with Chinese or English translations;
- Study and research plan (undergraduate students not less than 200 words, advanced students not less than 400 words, graduate students not less than 500 words), written in Chinese or English;
Applicants for master's or doctoral degree and those who apply to study in China as advanced scholars must submit two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English; applicants for scholarships for master's or doctoral students in China must provide a proposal Admission notice from the school you are attending;
Students applying for music majors must submit 1 cassette tape of their own works; students applying for fine arts majors must provide 6 color photos of their works (2 sketches, 2 color paintings, 2 other works) ); - Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China.
A copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Record" (uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department, limited to those who have studied in China for more than 6 months), filled out in English. Applicants must strictly follow the items required in the "Foreigner Physical Examination Record" for inspection. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Record" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or the photo is not stamped with a seam seal, is not signed and stamped by the doctor and the hospital, is invalid. In view of the fact that the examination result is valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly.
The above-mentioned application materials shall be delivered to the CSC before April 30, 2004 by the Chinese embassy (consulate-general) of the sending country or the embassy of the sending country in China that undertakes enrollment affairs. The Scholarship Council does not accept individual applications.
6. Selection of study institutions and majors.
Applicants can fill in 3 voluntary colleges and 1 voluntary major within the scope of higher education designated by the Ministry of Education of China. Please refer to "Introduction to Colleges and Majors Accepting Chinese Government Scholarships for International Students" (available from the CSC website http://www.csc.edu.cn ), and fill in the schools and majors strictly according to the list of schools and majors listed therein name.
Applicants for master's or doctoral degree and applicants for studying in China as advanced students, please attach materials to detail their study and research plans in China.
7. Admission and notification.
The CSC will review the application materials of scholarship applicants, and have the right to make appropriate adjustments to the chosen major, length of study, and school. The application materials will be forwarded to the relevant school, and the school will decide whether to enroll. If the applicant has contacted the school in advance and obtained the admission permit, please attach the relevant certificate of the school to the application materials to facilitate the school's admission.
If the applicant's conditions or application materials do not meet the regulations and requirements, the application will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted. The schools, majors, and length of time determined at the time of admission cannot be changed in principle after coming to China.
Applicants for scholarships admitted to Chinese institutions of higher learning can receive Chinese government scholarships after being approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
The Scholarship Council will send the "Admission List", "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 Form) to the relevant departments in charge of admissions before July 31, and they will forward the above documents The student himself.
