Scholarship for international students in Guangdong

1. Introduction to Scholarship

The "Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong" program was established by the Guangdong Provincial Government in 2013 to attract outstanding young foreign students to study in Guangdong for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. As the enrollment unit of the scholarship, South China Normal University recruits outstanding foreign students from the scholarship program from all over the world.


2. Applicant qualifications

(1) Applicants must have foreign nationality, hold a valid foreign passport, and be in good health

(2) Foreign students who apply to come to Guangdong to receive undergraduate (including undergraduate) education with excellent academic performance

(3) Applicant's academic qualifications and age requirements:

*Applicants who come to China to study for an undergraduate degree must obtain a diploma from a senior high school (inclusive) or above in their home country, and be under the age of 30;

*Applicants who come to China to study for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35;

*Applicants who come to China to study for a doctorate must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40.

(4) The applicant has excellent academic performance, has a clear purpose of studying in Guangdong, and is based on the major settings of the university he intends to attend, and

Combined with their own interests and professional expertise, they have formulated a clear study plan.

(5) Applicants come to study in Guangdong at their own expense. Students who have already enjoyed other scholarships cannot apply for this award school money.

Note: Winners of this scholarship program are required to pay all fees (including registration fees, tuition, insurance, and accommodation fees), the scholarship will be issued by the school to the winners once the list of winners is announced a personal bank account was provided.


3. Admissions Major

4. Scholarship content

One-time reward:

Doctoral students: 30,000 yuan/person;

Master's degree students: 20,000 yuan/person;

Undergraduate: 10,000 yuan/person;

Students who have been newly recruited scholarships for international students will apply for the scholarships for the next year after enrollment by the scholarships for international students. Priority approval will be granted under the same conditions.


5. Deadline for application

Postgraduate: July 15, 2021

Undergraduate: July 15, 2021

 

6. Application Procedure

Applicants for the “Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong” scholarship must be admitted by our school before they are eligible to participate in the scholarship selection.

Sending application materials: Please send the following materials to the admissions of the School of International Culture, South China Normal University before the deadline and the promotion office.

List of application materials:

(1) Fill in"Annual Application Form for the Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong (2)";

(2) LoginOnline application page for international student admission of our school register to apply and print the registration form.

(3) Notarized highest education certificate and notarized translations in Chinese or English must be attached to documents in languages other than Chinese or English; applicants for undergraduate majors must provide graduation certificates from senior high schools (inclusive) in their home country;

(4) Transcripts confirmed by the graduate school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

(5) Study and research plan in China (not less than 800 words), written in Chinese or English;

(6) Recommendation letters provided by two referees, written in Chinese or English; applicants for undergraduate majors must provide a letter of recommendation from the principal of the senior high school graduated from and a teacher, and applicants with a high school degree or above should provide the school graduated from the school. Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors; applicants for master's degree programs should provide recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors during the bachelor level; applicants for doctoral program programs should provide recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors during the master's degree program.

(7) Students applying for music majors must submit CDs of their own works; students applying for fine arts majors must provide 2 sketches, 2 color paintings, and 2 CDs of other works;

(8) A copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" (the original should be kept by yourself). This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department. You can log on to the CSC website http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or HTTP Download from ://www.campuschina.org, which must be filled out in English. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" to conduct inspections. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or the photo is not stamped with a seam seal, is not signed and stamped by the doctor and the hospital is invalid. Given that the examination results are valid for 6 months, applicants are requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly;

(9) HSK level 5 score report

Note: Please bind all application materials into a book (two volumes in one type) in the upper left corner in the above order. Regardless of whether you are admitted or not, the application materials will not be returned.

7. Scholarship selection and results announcement time

Applicants who graduated from world-renowned colleges and universities, come from our school's intercollegiate/academic exchange colleges, or have received recommendations from senior professors (experts) will be given priority. Our school will organize experts to comprehensively consider applicants' academic performance, academic ability, scientific research results, and tutors' opinions to determine the list of admissions, and all admitted applicants will enter the next round of screening. After the admitted students come to the school to study at their own expense, our school will re-screen the scholarship applicants who come to the school to study and submit the list of scholarship candidates to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in mid-September 2021, and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education will check The list will be finalized and the final list of winners will be determined.

The scholarship results are expected to be confirmed in December 2021 and announced on the website of the Guangdong Provincial Government and our school (http://english.scnu.edu.cn). The scholarship will be issued after the results are announced.
