South China Normal University was founded in 1933, and its predecessor was the Teachers College of Guangdong Mengqin University. It is a national "211 Project" key construction university, a provincial and ministerial joint construction university, a high-level university in Guangdong Province as a whole construction university, and a national "first-class discipline" construction university. The school currently has 4 campuses in Guangzhou Shipai, Guangzhou University Town, Foshan Nanhai, and Shanwei.
