Scholarships for outstanding foreign students
1. Scholarship content and standards
In order to subsidize outstanding international students studying for Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in our school to complete their studies, our school has established the "South China University of Technology Scholarships for outstanding foreign students" project. The scholarship adopts the method of annual tuition reduction and exemption, divided into multiple grades. The School of International Education of South China University of Technology is responsible for accepting scholarship applications, selection and daily affairs management.

2. Open professional
Except for the medical school, all majors of South China University of Technology can accept applications.
3. Applicant qualifications
Non-Chinese citizens, in good health.
Applicants for Undergraduate degree in China must have a high school graduation certificate;
Those who come to China to study a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree;
Those who come to China to study for a PhD degree must have a master's degree.

5. Application process/approach
Log in to the online application system of South China University of Technology
http://www.scut.edu.cn/apply,
Create a student account, fill in the application information and upload the application materials.
6. Required materials for application
(1) A valid passport page;
(2) Proof of the highest degree of education (copy of the original and translation);
(3) Academic transcripts (copy of the original and translation);
(4) Applicants at the graduate level must submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors;
(5) Graduate-level applicants must submit a study and research plan in China (Chinese or English, no less than 500 words)
(6) Graduate-level applicants must submit the "Tutor Pre-approval Acceptance Letter" issued by the instructor of South China University of Technology
(7) PhD applicants submit published literature or master's degree graduation thesis
(8) Students applying for music majors must submit CDs of their own music works; students applying for fine arts majors must provide CDs of their paintings (2 sketches, 2 color paintings, 2 other works)
(9) "Foreigner Physical Examination Record", which must be filled out in English
Note: The above materials must be provided in Chinese or English, and the certificates and transcripts must be notarized copies.
(10) Language proficiency certificate:
Chinese language proficiency requirements for Chinese-taught majors:
Science and engineering majors require a score of 180 or more in the new HSK Level 4;
Liberal arts and economics and management majors must have a score of 180 or more in the new HSK Level 5; the master's degree of the journalism and communication major (Chinese International Communication) requires a score of 210 or more in the new HSK Level 5.
English-taught professional English proficiency requirements:
Undergraduate level: TOEFL IBT 68 or above; IELTS 5.5 or above (for students from non-English speaking countries)
Master and PhD level: TOEFL IBT 80 or above; IELTS 6.0 or above (for students from non-English speaking countries)
Certificate of teaching in English at the highest academic level (for students from English-speaking countries)
