The cross-strait youth exchange activity "Love for Youth, Gathering in Shanghai" co-sponsored by the Chinese Cultural Friendship Association and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism was successfully concluded at the Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center in the afternoon of November 29.

 

Jin Lei, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism; Feng Zhi, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism; Wang Jian, Vice President of Shanghai Oriental Pearl International Exchange Co., Ltd.; Zhang Yunlei, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of Shanghai Theatre Academy.

 

Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of Shanghai Conservatory of Music Deputy Director Le Yizhen and others attended the Shanghai event. Hong Qizhou, Secretary-General of the Chinese Youth Mainland Studies Foundation, and other guests and Taiwanese teachers and students interacted on-site at the Taipei branch.

 

As a co-organizer, our school actively participated in this event: Nearly 60 students of the orchestral department participated in the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

 

Director Zhou Ping at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall provided the title of “Shanghai Symphony Orchestra to start your career with you in the concert hall of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

 

"Career" in the music topic cloud lecture; three teachers from the Department of Music Engineering Liu Hao, Qin Chile, and Ji Dongyong led 15 students to participate in the competition for creating the soundtrack for the video clips of Taiwan Cloud Gate Dance and achieved the best results.

 

The award, Best Melody Award, Best Creation Award; the woodwind quintet from students of the orchestral department also participated in the closing ceremony presentation performance. The professionalism demonstrated by the students in the event was highly praised by the organizers and experts in the Taiwanese art world.

 

The "Love Youth" activity has always focused on the exchanges and mutual learning between youths on both sides of the strait, serving the inheritance of traditional culture across the strait and setting up a stage for young friends in the cultural and artistic fields on both sides of the strait. Vice-chairman of the Chinese Cultural Friendship Association, conveyed his expectations to the youths on both sides of the strait via video at the ceremony, expecting the youths on both sides of the strait to take on the historical mission of inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and actively act as a practitioner and promoter of cross-strait integration and development.
