Eligibility for application

1. Under the age of 55, non-Chinese citizens, in good health;

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, residents of Mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have immigrated to foreign countries as foreign students must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and the last 4 years (As of April 30, 2021), they have actually lived abroad for more than 2 years (the actual living abroad for 9 months in a year can be calculated as 1 year, subject to entry and exit stamps).

2. Language requirements

2.1 To apply for majors taught in Chinese, the scores of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) should meet the following standards:

HSK can be exempted in the following situations:

♦ Chinese as mother tongue or common language

♦ Completely studied the academic program in Chinese and obtained a certificate

2.2 To apply for an English-taught major, the English proficiency must meet any of the following:

♦ English is the native language or official language

♦ IELTS (A) score of 6.5 or above or TOEFL score of 90 or above (including, TOEFL MyBestTM Score is accepted) or other internationally recognized English proficiency test with equivalent scores in the past two years, and the score certificate should be submitted ；

♦ Have obtained an academic certificate in a country where English is the native language.

3. The academic level must meet the following conditions:

3.1 Have a master's degree

Fresh graduates who have not obtained a degree certificate at the time of application need to provide a pre-graduation certificate issued by their school or college to prove that the applicant is capable of successfully graduating and obtaining a degree certificate before July 2021.

3.2 Shanghai University tutor review and acceptance

Choose a tutor from time to time when choosing a major in the online application system, and get approved by the tutor.

Note: Graduate students of the School of Economics do not need to choose a tutor, and qualified applicants will be assigned a tutor by a professional college.

3.3 Have a relevant master's professional background and have obtained relevant academic achievements. GPA of 3.0 (inclusive) or above (Note: GPA 4-point system).

3.4 To apply for an art major, you must have an art professional background and provide a portfolio;

Important time

1. Application time: January 08, 2021, to June 30, 2021

2. Start time: from the end of August to the beginning of 2021;

3. Check-in time: The official website of the specific check-in time will be notified separately.

Application materials

The following materials should be prepared in complete and clear electronic files (PDF or JPG and other formats).

♦ Copy of passport information page

♦ Passport-size ID photo in the past six months (without hat, front, blue background, one-inch ID photo (390*570), JPG format, size within 100K);

♦ Upload a small video (content: self-introduction and study plan in China, format: avi, mov, mp4 can be three kinds, language: according to the teaching language of the applied major, the size is within 50M)

♦ A copy of the graduate certificate or degree certificate of the master's degree (the original or notarized copy of the pre-graduation certificate can be provided for fresh graduates)

♦ Copy of transcripts of all courses at the postgraduate level

♦ A copy of the language proficiency certificate or a screenshot of the results webpage (the original certificate must be provided for reference during registration)

♦ Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors or experts in related fields (signature and contact information of the recommender are required)

♦ Choose a tutor online and get approved by the tutor (Note: Graduate students of the School of Economics do not need to choose a tutor, and qualified applicants will be assigned a tutor by the professional college.)

♦ Study and research plans in China. According to the teaching language of the major applied for, written in Chinese or English (not less than 800 words)

♦ Financial guarantee certificate (download the template at http://apply.shu.edu.cn)

♦ No criminal record certificate

Note: If you cannot obtain a certificate of no criminal record in your home country, you can sign the "No Criminal Record Commitment" with the school, and you can download the template at http://apply.shu.edu.cn.

♦ Academic achievement materials

① Academic paper publication and patent certificate. Note: Applicants who apply for a doctorate degree in the School of Management must have a background in management science or science and engineering and have published at least one academic paper in an SCI or SSCI journal at the time of application.

② The art major must provide at least two related works;

Note:

1. Documents that are not in Chinese or English must be attached with a notarized or Chinese/English translation provided by the issuing unit;

2. You only need to upload the scanned copy of the above materials when applying, and the original copy should be provided for reference when the journal is opened.
