Notes:

♦ Living expenses are paid by the school on a monthly basis. Scholarship students who register before the 15th (including the 15th) of the month will receive a full month's living allowance; those who register after the 15th will get half a month's living allowance; the living expenses of graduates will be paid to the graduation day determined by the school For the next half month; if the scholarship student leaves China for more than 15 days due to personal reasons during the study period (except for normal holidays), the living allowance will be suspended during the period of absence.

Scholarship application requirements

Scholarship applicants must apply for the relevant majors of our school and be pre-admitted by our school before they are eligible to participate in the scholarship selection. Shanghai University International Student Application Website: http://apply.shu.edu.cn. For details of the application method, please refer to the Admissions Guide for International Degree Students (Undergraduate/Master/PhD). The scholarship application requirements are as follows:

1. Basic requirements

Non-Chinese citizens, in good health.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, residents of Mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have immigrated to foreign countries as foreign students must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and the last 4 years (As of April 30, 2021), they have actually lived abroad for more than 2 years (the actual living abroad for 9 months in a year can be calculated as 1 year, subject to entry and exit stamps).

 

2. Language requirements

2.1 To apply for majors taught in Chinese, the HSK scores in the past two years should meet the following standards:

Subject professional nature

New HSK score requirements

Arts, science and engineering, economics and management majors

210 points or above in the new HSK Level 5

Liberal Arts Major

New HSK Level 6 with a score of 180 or above

 

HSK can be exempted in the following situations:

♦ Chinese is the mother tongue or common language;

♦ Completely studied the academic program in Chinese and obtained a certificate

 

2.2 To apply for an English-taught major, the English proficiency must meet any of the following:

♦English is the mother tongue or official language;

♦ the last two years IELTS (A) score of 6.5 points or more (including) or TOEFL score of 90 points or more (including, accept the TOEFL personal best MyBest TOEFL TM Score) or other internationally recognized English proficiency test scores quite reach, and submit scores prove;

♦Have a diploma in an English-speaking country.

 

3. The academic level must meet the following conditions:

3.1 Apply for an undergraduate program:

♦ Must have a high school diploma, with a grade point of 3.0 (inclusive) or above (GPA four-point system);

♦Apply for science and engineering majors, pass high school mathematics and physics; apply for economics and management majors, pass high school mathematics; apply for art majors, must provide portfolio;

♦ Age no more than 25 years old.

 

3.2 Apply for a master's program:

♦ Must have a bachelor's degree (graduates who have not yet obtained a degree certificate at the time of application must provide a pre-graduation certificate issued by their school or college to prove that the applicant has the ability to successfully graduate and obtain a degree certificate before July 2021);

♦ Have a relevant undergraduate professional background, or have taken relevant professional courses at the undergraduate level, with a grade point of 2.5 (inclusive) or higher (GPA 4-point system);

♦Shanghai University tutor review and acceptance: choose a tutor when choosing a major in the online application system, and get the tutor's approval

(Note: It is not necessary to select tutors online to apply for the master's degree programs of the following colleges, and qualified applicants will be arranged by professional colleges after registration: School of Economics, MBA Center, Sydney Business School);

♦Applicants for art majors must have a background in art and provide a portfolio of works;

♦The age is not more than 35 years old.

 

3.3 Apply for Ph.D. program:

♦Must have a master's degree (graduates who have not yet obtained a degree certificate at the time of application need to provide a pre-graduation certificate issued by their school or college to prove that the applicant is capable of successfully graduating and obtaining a degree certificate before July 2021);

♦ Have a relevant master's professional background, and have obtained relevant academic achievements, with a grade point of 3.0 (inclusive) or higher (GPA 4-point system);

♦Shanghai University tutor review and acceptance: choose a tutor when choosing a major in the online application system, and get the tutor's review and approval;

Graduate students of the School of Economics do not need to choose a tutor, and qualified applicants will be assigned a tutor by the professional college ;

♦Applicants for art majors must have a background in art and provide a portfolio of works;

♦Age no more than 45 years old.

 

4. No other types of scholarships were awarded at the time of application.

 

Application materials

Complete and clear electronic files should be prepared for the following materials:

♦ Copy of passport information page

♦ Passport- size ID photo within the past six months (without hat, front, blue background, one-inch ID photo (390*570), JPG format, size within 100K)

♦ Upload a small video (content: self-introduction and study plan in China, format: avi, mov, mp4 are available, language: according to the teaching language of the applied major, the size should be within 50M)

♦ Copy of graduation certificate or degree certificate of the highest degree (new graduates can provide the original or notarized copy of the pre-graduation certificate)

♦ A copy of the transcripts of all courses at the highest academic level (graduates can provide transcripts of all courses completed at the deadline of application issued by the school)

♦ A copy of the language proficiency certificate or a screenshot of the results webpage (the original certificate must be provided for reference during registration)

♦ Graduate program applicants must provide two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors or experts in related fields (signature and contact information of the recommender are required)

♦ Graduate program applicants need to select a tutor online and obtain the tutor's approval (Note: Graduate students of the School of Economics do not need to choose a tutor, and qualified applicants will be assigned a tutor by the professional college)

♦ Study and research plans in China. According to the teaching language of the major applied for, written in Chinese or English (not less than 800 words)

♦ Proof of financial guarantee (the template can be downloaded at http://apply.shu.edu.cn)

♦ Proof of honor (proof of participating in various activities or competitions)

♦ Proof of no criminal record

Notes: If you cannot obtain a certificate of no criminal record in your home country, you can sign the "No Criminal Record Commitment" with the school, and you can download the template at http://apply.shu.edu.cn.

♦ Academic achievement materials

① Academic paper publication and patent certificate. Note: Applicants who apply for a doctorate degree in the School of Management must have a background in management science or science and engineering and have published at least one academic paper in an SCI or SSCI journal at the time of application.

② The art major must provide at least two related works;

Note:

♦ Documents that are not in Chinese or English must be attached with a notarized or Chinese/English translation provided by the issuing unit;

♦ You only need to upload the scanned copy of the above materials when applying, and provide the original copy when you open the journal.

 

Application methods for various scholarships

Chinese Government Scholarship Program

The Ministry of Education of China has entrusted the China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the "China Scholarship Council") to be responsible for the enrollment and management of Chinese government scholarship students.

1. Regular Chinese Government Scholarship Program (Type A)

Type A generally refers to scholarship programs that other accepting agencies are responsible for enrolling students except for Chinese universities. Applicants for this type of project must fill in the "Accepting Agency Code" of the corresponding accepting agency (such as the Chinese Embassy in a certain country), and the submitted application will be reviewed by the corresponding accepting agency. Institutional code of Shanghai University: 10280.

Applicants, please log on to http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua to view more application information, and apply to the international student dispatch department of your country.

Generally, it is from early January to early April (the specific application time is subject to the time specified by each accepting department).

 

2. Chinese Government Scholarship-Autonomous Enrollment Program for Colleges and Universities (Type B)

Type B generally refers to the independent enrollment program of Chinese government scholarship universities. Applicants for such programs must select the scholarship category "B" in the application system of the China Scholarship Council, and fill in the "Accepting Agency Code" of the corresponding university at the same time, and the submitted application will be reviewed by the corresponding university. Shanghai University Freshman Scholarship

The Shanghai University Freshman Scholarship only supports graduate students and doctoral students and does not need to apply separately. Such scholarship candidates are selected from applicants for the Chinese Government Scholarship University Graduate Program and the Shanghai Government Scholarship.

 

Confucius Institute Scholarship

Please refer to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website (http://cis.chinese.cn) for the application procedures of the Confucius Institute Scholarship

 

Other

1. Scholarship recipients must go through the registration and registration procedures in accordance with the time set by the school. Those who fail to register without approval will be disqualified for scholarship;

2. Scholarship recipients are required to submit the originals of all application materials when the journal is opened. If fraudulent behavior is found, the scholarship and admission qualifications will be cancelled;

3. Scholarship recipients must participate in the annual scholarship review in accordance with regulations. Those who fail to pass the review will be suspended or disqualified from the scholarship;

4. In principle, scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their majors and duration of the study;
