Established in 1956, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the first Chinese higher education institutions established by the country after the birth of New China. It is a Chinese medicine institution jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the local government in Shanghai, and it is also a key point in Shanghai. Constructed high-level university. The school is located in the core area of Zhangjiang Science City. The school's medical scale and medical service capabilities continue to improve. There are 8 affiliated hospitals, which basically cover all three-level Chinese medicine and integrated Chinese and Western medicine hospitals in Shanghai. The affiliated hospital has a total construction area of approximately 670,000 square meters, with a total of approximately 6,300 beds, and serves approximately 17 million patients from all over the world each year. The school actively responds to the national "One Belt One Road" initiative by setting up overseas Chinese medicine centers to continuously promote the internationalization of Chinese medicine. At present, the school has established scientific research, teaching, medical, and other cooperative relations with nearly 50 overseas universities, medical research institutions, and international organizations in 20 countries and regions.

 

1. Admissions Major

Foreign postgraduates of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine are divided into full-time foreign postgraduates (hereinafter referred to as “full-time postgraduates”) and part-time foreign postgraduates (hereinafter referred to as “part-time postgraduates”). Part-time postgraduates are only available The partner colleges and universities that Chinese and foreign co-educate graduate students are open.

 

Chinese and English are generally used for teaching and teaching. The master's program taught and taught in English only enrolls students with a background in non-Chinese medicine. , Part of the teaching and training can be used in Japanese (only for full-time master's students with non-Chinese medicine background recommended by the Japanese school of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the teaching is in a combination of English and Japanese).

The school requires applicants to contact the relevant professional tutors of our school in advance and submit the "Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine tutors to accept foreign master's research business form" (Annex 3) issued by the tutors along with the application materials. 2. School system

The length of schooling is three years and can be extended to five years at most.

 

3. Eligibility for application

Applicants should be of foreign nationality and in good health. Residents of Mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan who apply for admission as international students after immigrating to a foreign country must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive) and the recent 4 years (as of 2021 years 4 months 30 days ago) within the actual living abroad 2 records over the years (one year actually resided abroad 9 months of the year can be calculated to inbound and outbound signature Prevail).

Applicants for Chinese-taught majors must reach the new HSK 5 level with a score of 180 or more (not required for those who have completed secondary and/or higher education using Chinese as a medium); English-taught and Japanese-taught majors do not require applicants' Chinese proficiency. Applicants for English-taught courses in non-native English-speaking countries must have a TOEFL score of at least 90 or an IELTS score of at least 6.5.

Applicants with a non-Chinese medicine background need to have an undergraduate education background in medicine or related sciences and have a certain degree of independent learning ability and scientific research ability of Chinese medicine professional knowledge.

 

4. Application materials

After the applicants are admitted, they must bring the original documents for verification when they come to the school to register. If it is found to be inconsistent with the content of the application materials, the school has the right to cancel the applicant's admission qualification. If you need to provide proof of financial ability, the school will notify you separately.

Applicants for the Chinese Government Scholarship and Shanghai Government Scholarship must submit the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Annex 12). After the applicants are admitted, they must bring the original health certificate (physical examination certificate) for verification when registering at the school; those with chronic diseases must be notified in advance. If there are chronic diseases that are uncertain whether they can be admitted, please confirm with the school before applying.

The application fee will not be refunded due to incomplete application materials, non-admission after the application is accepted, or the student's voluntarily abandoning the entrance examination or registration.

6. Admission qualification review and interview

The school will review the applicant's admission qualifications, and those who pass the review can participate in an interview organized by the school. In addition to the necessary application materials for admission qualification review, applicants must complete a summary article following the "Announcement of 2021 Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Foreign Postgraduate Application Phase Review Ability Test" (Annex 5). Admission interviews for master's degree candidates adopt on-site, telephone, and online video interviews (applicants in Asian regions are required to participate in on-site interviews. Applicants from Asian regions who apply for online interviews will not be given priority to recommend national or city-level applicants for independent enrollment. 7. Admission

After a comprehensive review of the applicant's application materials, interview results, and tutor's opinions, the school will select the best candidates for admission. After admission, applications for changing tutors will generally not be accepted. The Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Studying in China (JW202 Form) will be mailed to the admitted applicants by a letter from the school in mid-June 2021.

 

8. Start time

In September 2021, the specific time is subject to the "Admission Notice" and "Registration Notes".

 

9. Registration

Admitted applicants should take ordinary passports, "Admission Notice", and "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW202 Form or JW201 Form) to the Chinese Embassy (Consulate) to apply for an Entry Study (X1) Visa (Chinese University Foreign students with non-study visas are not accepted), and with the above materials, register at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the time specified in the "Admission Notice". Students who submit the certificate of enrollment at the time of application must submit the original or notarized copy of the academic certificate as required when enrolling. Those who fail to provide the certificate will be disqualified from admission. If foreign students fail to register as required and do not ask for leave in advance, they will be disqualified from enrollment. When a student violates Chinese government laws and regulations or school rules and regulations, or because his academic performance does not meet the requirements set by the school, he will be dealt with following the "Regulations on the Management of International Students of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine".

 

10. Expenses

Tuition

Full-time master's students (taught in Chinese) RMB 34,000/year, part-time master's students (taught in Chinese) RMB 51,000/year; full-time master's student (taught in English or Japanese) RMB 51,000/year, part-time masters Students (taught in English) RMB 60,000 per year.

Tuition fees include teaching, internship, professor guidance, thesis review, and other training expenses, excluding teaching materials, books, accommodation, medical expenses, and other expenses. The postgraduates jointly cultivated by China and foreign countries are subject to the content of the agreement between the two parties. According to the "Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Interim Regulations on the Use of Credit Banks for International Students" (Annex 6), the items (courses) that can be recognized in the "Credit Banks" that international students study for a master's degree program are accumulated within the prescribed academic system. It is only used as a basis for tuition reduction or exemption for self-financed students.

Accommodation fee

Please refer to the "Overview of International Students' Accommodation on Campus in 2020" (Annex 7) (the current standard of accommodation fees is for reference only). The dormitory arrangement at the time of enrollment is based on the overall dormitory arrangement of the school, and students will be notified in mid-July. If there is any change in the standard of accommodation fees, it will be implemented according to the 2021 standard.

After students apply for off-campus accommodation and the school agrees, students can live off-campus by themselves at their own expense.

11. Scholarships and bursaries

Chinese Government Scholarship

The cost reduction and exemption, medical insurance, on-campus housing, and living expenses for Chinese government scholarships shall be implemented following the "Notice of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education on Improving the Chinese Government Scholarship Funding System and Raising Funding Standards" and other relevant documents. If applying to our school, applicants can contact our school's International Education College Admissions Office to obtain our school's pre-admission notice (see "Article 14" for contact information). In principle, the tutors of the admitted Chinese government scholarship students are arranged by the school. If the students have their own wishes to choose a tutor, they need to pay the registration fee, complete the online application, pass the admission qualification review and interview.

Established by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. The cost of the Shanghai Government Scholarship for Foreign Students shall be issued following the "Notice on Further Improving the Shanghai Government Scholarship Funding System for Foreign Students and Raising the Funding Standards" and other relevant documents. In addition to paying the registration fee, completing the online application, passing the admission qualification review and interview, students applying for the Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship also need to complete the application on the "Study in Shanghai" website (the registration fee only needs to be paid once and does not need to be repeated).

13. Academic degree

Within the prescribed academic system, the student completes the course study following the provisions of the training program, with qualified grades, completes the graduation (degree) thesis, and has passed the thesis defense, and has officially published academic thesis within the prescribed academic system (the student himself is the first author, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (including the thesis of the first unit as the affiliated unit), will issue a diploma. It complies with the regulations of Degree Regulations of the People's Republic of China and can be awarded a master's degree certificate upon approval by the school's degree evaluation committee.
