International Chinese Teacher Scholarship

 

In order to train qualified overseas Chinese teachers and promote the development of Chinese education in various countries, the Chinese-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education has established an international Chinese teacher scholarship. According to the "Application Procedures for International Chinese Teacher Scholarship (2021)" and related document requirements of the Chinese-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2021 International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Application Procedures are as follows:

 

1. Objects of funding

(1) Persons of non-Chinese nationality;

(2) Physical and mental health, good character and learning;

(3) Interested in engaging in Chinese education, teaching and related work;

(4) The age is 16-35 years old (unified on September 1, 2021). In-service Chinese teachers are relaxed to 45 years old.

 

2. Scholarship categories and application requirements

(1) First-grade trainees

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 11 months. International students in China will not be admitted.

Professional direction: Chinese language training. With a score of 210 in the HSK test (Level 3), those who provide HSKK scores are preferred.

Project time: September 2021 to July 2022

 

(2) First-semester trainee

Enrollment in September 2021 and March 2022, the funding period is 5 months. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted.

Professional direction: Chinese language and literature. Have a score of 180 in the HSK test (Level 3) and an HSKK test score.

Project time: September 2021 to January 2022, March 2022 to July 2022

Professional direction: Chinese medicine. Those who have HSK scores and provide HSKK scores are preferred.

Project time: September 2021 to January 2022, March 2022 to July 2022

 

(3) Four lap trainees

Enrollment in July 2021 (summer vacation), the funding period is 4 weeks. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted.

Professional direction: Chinese medicine. Have HSK scores.

Project time: June 7, 2021 (Monday)-July 2 (Friday)

The recommending institution can organize a group for registration, and contact the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to determine the study plan in China in advance, and submit it to the center for approval in advance. Each group has 10 to 15 people.

Enrollment in December 2021 (winter), the funding period is 4 weeks. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted.

Professional direction: Chinese language training. Have HSK scores.

Project time: November 22, 2021 (Monday)-December 17 (Friday)

The recommending institution can organize a group for registration, and contact the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to determine the study plan in China in advance, and submit it to the center for approval in advance. Each group has 10 to 15 people.

 

3. Handling process

From March 1, 2021, applicants can log on to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Application Website (cis.chinese.cn) Apply for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship and log in to the International Student Registration Platform of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (apply.shutcm.edu.cn) Apply for scholarships for international Chinese teachers.

Log in to the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine registration website for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship; submit application materials online, pay attention to the application process, review opinions and scholarship review results; scholarship recipients should confirm the procedures for studying in China with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and print out the award certificate online; Enter the journal at the time specified in the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Registration Notice.

Deadline for registration (subject to Beijing time):

(1) Enrollment in July 2021 (summer vacation): April 15, 2021;

(2) Enrollment in September 2021: May 15, 2021;

(3) Admission in December 2021 (winter): September 15, 2021;

(4) Admission in March 2022: November 15, 2021.

 

4. About the Chinese Bridge winners

Those who have won the 2021 "International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions, log on to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship website, and submit application materials to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the scholarship certificate.

5. Application materials

(1) Common materials submitted by all applicants

  • Scanned copy of passport photo page
  • Scanned copy of HSK and HSKK score reports (valid for two years)
  • Recommendation letter issued by the person in charge of the recommending institution
  • The highest degree certificate (or certificate of expected graduation)

(2) Other supporting materials to be submitted

  • Applicants under the age of 18 must be formally entrusted by their parents to be a foreigner or Chinese in Shanghai as the guardian of the student, and submit notarized guardian guarantee documents.
  • In-service Chinese teachers must also attach an in-service certificate and recommendation letter issued by the institution where they are employed.

(3) Matters needing attention

  • Those who provide false materials, or conceal the X1 and X2 visa records in their passports when applying for a one-semester or four-week course, will be immediately disqualified from the scholarship once verified, and the applicant shall bear all consequences arising therefrom.
  • The school may request students to provide other materials according to the situation.

(2) Failure to register on time, unqualified admission physical examination, dropout in the middle of school, suspension of study, cancellation of scholarship qualification

(3) Applicants can only apply for one type of scholarship provided by a Chinese government agency. Repeated applications will be deemed invalid. Once verified, the scholarship qualification will be cancelled.
