To meet the international community’s increasing demand for Chinese language education talents, promote the development of Chinese language education around the world, and help the growth of international Chinese language education talents, the Ministry of Education’s Sino-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) has established an international Chinese teacher scholarship (hereinafter referred to as the Center) Referred to as scholarship), focusing on training qualified overseas Chinese teachers. Confucius Institutes, independently established Confucius Classrooms, some Chinese test sites, relevant foreign educational institutions, Chinese teachers majors in universities/Chinese departments, relevant foreign Chinese teaching industry organizations, Chinese embassies (consulates) abroad, etc. (hereinafter referred to as recommended institutions) Can recommend outstanding students and in-service Chinese teachers to Chinese universities

(Hereinafter referred to as the host institution) Study and advance Chinese international education and related majors. As one of the receiving universities, Tianjin Normal University will announce the application procedures as follows:

(1) Funding target

1. Non-Chinese nationals;

2. Physical and mental health, good character, and learning;

3. Interested in engaging in Chinese education, teaching, and related work;

4. Age 16-35 (unified as September 1, 2021

(2) Scholarship categories and application requirements

1. Postgraduates majoring in Chinese International Education

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 2 years.

Have a university degree. A minimum score of 210 in the HSK test (Level 5) and 60 in the HSKK (Intermediate) test are required. Those who provide a work agreement or relevant certification for the teaching institution to be taught after graduation is preferred.

2. Undergraduates majoring in Chinese International Education

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 4 years.

Have a high school diploma. A minimum score of 210 in HSK (Level 4) and 60 in HSKK (Intermediate) in the Chinese test.

3. First-grade trainee

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 11 months. International students in China will not be admitted.

In the direction of international Chinese education, the Chinese language test score must reach 270 points in the HSK (Level 3), with an HSKK score; the Chinese language and literature direction, the Chinese language test score must be at least 180 points in the HSK (Level 4) and 60 points in the HSKK (Intermediate Level); The test score reaches 210 points in HSK (Level 3), and those who provide HSKK scores are preferred.

4. First-semester trainee

Enrollment in September 2021 and March 2022, the funding period is 5 months. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted. Chinese international education, Chinese language, and literature, etc., with a minimum score of 180 in the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK score.

5. Four lap trainee

Enrollment in July or December 2021, the funding period is 4 weeks. Those who have X1 and X2 visas in their passports are not admitted.

The special projects around the Confucius Institute require HSK scores. The Confucius Institute can organize a group to register, and contact our school in advance to determine the study plan in China, and submit it to the Sino-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center for approval in advance. Each group has 10-15 people.

(3) Sino-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center and Tianjin Normal University Cooperation Scholarship

The Sino-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center and Tianjin Normal University jointly established scholarships. The categories, quotas, and application conditions are as follows:

1. Master of Chinese International Education

Enrollment quota: 10 people

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 2 years.

Have a university degree. A minimum score of 210 in the HSK test (Level 5) and 60 in the HSKK (Intermediate) test are required. Those who provide the work agreement or relevant certification of the proposed teaching institution after graduation and the students jointly trained by our school and foreign universities are preferred.

2. Bachelor of Chinese International Education

Enrollment quota: 20 people

Enrollment in September 2021, the funding period is 4 years.

Have a high school diploma. A minimum score of 210 in HSK (Level 4) and 60 in HSKK (Intermediate) in the Chinese test. Priority is given to students jointly trained by our school and foreign universities.

(4) Handling process

1. How to handle

From March 1, 2021, applicants can log on to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Application Website to apply for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship.

Log on to the scholarship website to inquire about recommending institutions and receiving institutions; submit application materials online, pay attention to the application process, review opinions and scholarship review results; submit the foreigner physical examination form (see appendix 1) after our school has reviewed the pre-admission, and send it to the mailbox ：Tjnu_adm@126.com; Scholarship recipients confirm with our school to go through the formalities for studying in China, and print the award certificate online; enter the journal at the time specified in the admission notice of our school.

2. Registration date (subject to Beijing time)

The Chinese-foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center entrusts an expert group to conduct centralized evaluation: based on HSK and HSKK test scores and levels, taking into account factors such as country, the scholarship evaluation will be completed about 3 months before enrollment and the evaluation results will be announced.

(5) About the Chinese Bridge winners

Those who have won the 2021 "International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions, log on to the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship website and submit application materials to the target host institution with the scholarship certificate.

(6) Recommending institutions and receiving institutions

The recommending institution and the host institution perform territorial responsibilities by these Measures and provide services such as consultation, recommendation, and enrollment.

The Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) test center of Tianjin Normal University (hereinafter referred to as the test center) is approved by the China-Foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center and is the first batch of test centers in China that has the qualification to recommend foreign students to apply for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship. According to the 2021 International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Application Procedures, the test center of our school can be used as a recommendation institution to recommend international students to apply for the International Chinese Teacher Scholarship.

(7) Other

1. Application materials that are incomplete or do not meet the enrollment requirements will not be accepted.

2. If the application materials are falsified or filled out and submitted by others, once verified, the application qualification will be canceled.

3. Applicants must understand the specific enrollment requirements and deadlines of the target host colleges, and submit application materials by relevant regulations.

4. Students with academic qualifications are required to participate in the annual review. For details, please refer to the "Annual Review of International Chinese Teacher Scholarship"

5. Failure to register on time, failure to pass the entrance examination, dropout in the middle of school, suspension of scholarship, cancellation of scholarship qualifications.

6. Winners who are unable to register for some reason should inform our school in writing and indicate the reason 15 days before the registration date. Those who fail to register without reason will be disqualified for scholarships.
