In March 1938, Lin University was renamed "National Northwest Associated University". In July 1938, the National Northwest Associated University was reorganized into the National Northwest University, the National Northwest Institute of Technology, the National Northwest Normal College, and the National Northwestern Medical College. In December 1942, the Executive Yuan of the National Government upgraded the former Zhejiang Provincial Inshi University to a national level, and its engineering college was divided into the National Beiyang Institute of Technology. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the National Beiyang Institute of Technology (Taishun), the Xijing Branch of the Beiyang Institute of Technology, the Northwest Institute of Technology, and the Peking Department (the dean of the Faculty of Science Chen Xunmin took over the "Peking University Fifth Division" and established the Peking University Beiping Department) four schools The teachers and students returned to Tianjin and restored the National Peiyang University, which was renamed "Peking University" in 1946.
In 1951, Beiyang University merged with Hebei Institute of Technology and was named Tianjin University by the state. In 1952, the nationwide adjustment of colleges and departments began.
