1. Name of professional direction
Chinese law and governance (Chinese Law and Governance)
2. Training goals
This major trains high-level legal professionals who have an international vision, are familiar with Chinese law and national governance, have a solid legal theoretical foundation and systematic professional knowledge and have the ability to analyze and solve problems comprehensively using legal knowledge. Graduates of this major should master Chinese legal system and national governance theory, have the basic ability to conduct academic research and exchanges in English, and be competent in the legal affairs of relevant government legal departments, law firms, and various corporate legal affairs, as well as national and social governance-related work. Become a social pillar and legal professional elite leading the future.
3. School system
The length of schooling is 2.5 years; the study mode is full-time.
4. Credit requirements
The total credits are not less than 30 credits. Among them, 6 credits for public degree courses, 12 credits for professional degree courses, 8 credits for professional non-degree courses, and 4 credits for compulsory courses.
5. Academic degree
After completing all the links of the training program and passing the grades, and passing the master's thesis defense, you can obtain the "Master of Laws" degree certificate and a postgraduate diploma from Tongji University.
6. Enrollment target
Non-Chinese citizens who are physically and mentally healthy;
7. Admission requirements
( 1 ) Provide a copy of the graduation certificate and bachelor's degree or above. Certificates in languages other than Chinese or English must provide the original notarized copy of the Chinese or English translation (Note: The notarized copy of the document must be provided by the Chinese embassy or consulate in China);
( 2 ) For fresh graduates, the original certificate of expected graduation will be issued by the school where they belong. If they are admitted, they need to submit the graduation certificate when registering. Original or notarized transcripts of all courses at the undergraduate or master level. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must provide the original notarized copy of the Chinese or English translation (Note: The notarized copy of the document must be provided by the Chinese embassy or consulate in China);
( 3 ) English language certificate (new TOEFL score no less than 80, or IELTS score no less than 6.0, or proof that English is the working language during university study);
( 4 ) Original recommendation letters from two associate professors or scholars with corresponding titles or above (the contact information of the recommender must be stated);
( 5 ) Personal statement, about 1000 words, written in English. The content should include personal study, work experience, academic research results, master's research plan, personal development goals after graduation, etc.;
Note: In addition to the above application materials, the International Students Office of Tongji University may require applicants to provide supplementary materials when necessary. Regardless of whether you are admitted or not, the above application materials will not be returned.
8. Fee standard
Registration fee: 600 yuan ( RMB )
Tuition fee: 80,000 yuan (RMB) per person
Note: The application fee is paid when submitting the application materials. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded; the tuition fee, accidental injury, and hospitalization medical insurance premium (800 RMB / year ) are paid at the time of registration.
