Siemens China Scholarship
1. Scholarship introduction
Siemens China Scholarship of Tsinghua University is provided by Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. to support excellent international students to study a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering Department, computer science and Technology Department, art college, software college, automation department, electrical engineering, and application Electronics Technology Department of Tsinghua University. The doctoral students who have won this scholarship will cooperate with Siemens in 12 fields such as artificial intelligence, Internet of things, network security, frontier automation, autonomous robots (see Table 1 for details) to research the doctoral stage. Through the most advanced learning and practice in the development of industrial technology, the research will lay a foundation for the growth of leading talents in industry innovation.
1.1 Scholarship content and funding standard:
The Siemens China Scholarship provides the winners with the following funding for Doctoral Degree:
(1) Tuition fee for graduate students, RMB 40000 / year;
(2) Living allowance (including accommodation, insurance, and others), totaling 160000 yuan/year.
1.2 Scholarship funding period:
(1) The "Siemens China Scholarship" is funded for four years. If the winner completes his / her degree in advance, the scholarship funding period will be shortened accordingly, which is consistent with the actual completion period of his / her studies;
(2) If the winner fails to complete his or her studies for special reasons or can obtain better research results within four years, the winner may apply to the scholarship Review Committee of Siemens China Scholarship for extension of the scholarship grant period after the application for extension of the term of study has been approved by the school. After the approval of all members of the scholarship Review Committee, the scholarship can be continued to be granted;
(3) During the funding period or when applying for an extension of the scholarship funding period, the winner shall participate in the annual scholarship review once a year to determine whether he/she is eligible to continue to obtain the scholarship.
1.3 During the doctoral degree, the winner of the Siemens China scholarship must select one of the following research fields as the main research topic in the doctoral degree stage, and carry out scientific research with Siemens.

2. Application conditions
Applicants for the "Siemens China Scholarship" must meet the following basic requirements:
2.1 Meet the admission requirements of our school for international graduate students (see "Tsinghua University International Graduate Admissions Guide" for specific content);
2.2 The corresponding faculties and departments of the Research areas included in the application form1.
2.3 Must agree with Siemens values and be willing to carry out scientific research together with Siemens.
2.4 Not receiving any other scholarships or funding at the same time.
3. Application procedure
3.1 Application process
(1) Applicants carefully read this scholarship application method and confirm that they meet the application requirements of this scholarship;
(2) Fill in and submit postgraduate admission application information in the "Graduate Application System of Tsinghua University" (http://gradadmission.tsinghua.edu.cn);
(3) Upload the following scholarship application materials in "Upload Application Materials-Other Supplementary Materials":
"Tsinghua University "Siemens China Scholarship" Application Form"
"Foreigner Physical Examination Form": This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department and must be filled out in English. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" to conduct inspections. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" with missing items, no photo of the person posted, or no seal on the photo, and no signature and seal of the physician or hospital, is invalid. The inspection results are valid for 6 months.
"Tsinghua University Siemens China Scholarship Application Form" and "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" please see Annex 1 and Annex 2 of this instruction.
Deadline for uploading application materials for Siemens China Scholarship: March 1, 2019.
3.2 Application instructions
(1) "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" must be filled out in English. For the electronic version, please scan the relevant documents in color with a scanner and send them. Documents taken by mobile phones or cameras are not accepted.
(2) Applicants should ensure that all application materials are valid. Any time it is discovered that there is falsification or deliberate exaggeration in the application materials, the scholarship application qualification or the qualification for the award will be canceled.
(3) Scholarship application materials that are incomplete or do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.
(4) All applications must be submitted online by the above application process, and other application methods are not accepted.
(5) Applicants should submit the scholarship application materials within the specified time. Failure to upload the scholarship application materials within the specified time shall be deemed to have given up the application.
(6) This scholarship is competitive. To increase the chances of obtaining academic funding during the study period, it is recommended that those who apply for the postgraduate program also apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship to continue to participate in the Chinese Government Scholarship without the funding of this scholarship.
4. Review procedures
The evaluation procedure of the "Siemens China Scholarship" is:
4.1 Mechanical Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Art school, Department of Automation, Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology and Software College will review the application materials of scholarship applicants to be admitted, determine the best scholarship recommendation list, and submit it Scholarship Review Committee.
4.2 Applicants can be candidates for Siemens China Scholarship only with the unanimous approval of all members of the Scholarship Review Committee.
4.3 After the scholarship candidates and their supervisors reach an agreement with Siemens on scientific research cooperation, Siemens will determine the final scholarship recipient.
The list of scholarship winners is expected to be announced on the "Graduate Application System of Tsinghua University" (http://gradadmission.tsinghua.edu.cn) in mid-April 2019.
Scholarship winners who fail to enter the journal within the prescribed time limit in the year of enrollment will no longer retain their qualifications.
5. Scholarship distribution and management
5.1 "Siemens China Scholarship" winners do not need to pay tuition by themselves; Tsinghua University does not guarantee that the scholarship winners will provide on-campus accommodation, and the winners can apply for on-campus accommodation or contact off-campus accommodation; scholarship winners should purchase them when freshmen enroll by regulations Comprehensive medical insurance.
5.2 "Siemens China Scholarship" living expenses are paid by the Graduate School. After the winners register each semester, the Graduate School will issue a one-time payment of 30,000 yuan in September and March each year, and 10,000 yuan per month for the other months. For doctoral students who still receive scholarships in the academic year of graduation, the living expenses of the winners will be paid until the month of graduation.
5.3 If the winners drop out, transfer, or expel their student status, their living expenses will be suspended from the date of approval of the student status change.
5.4 If the winners apply for suspension of school, the payment of the living expenses of the winners will be suspended from the next month when the approval takes effect and will be issued after the resumption of school.
5.5 To strengthen the management of the "Siemens China Scholarship", the winners are required to undergo an annual review (hereinafter referred to as the "annual review") in June each year. The content of the annual review includes academic progress, attitude towards study and scientific research, attendance, behavior, and rewards and punishments. Those who pass the annual examination are eligible to receive the scholarship for the next academic year; for those who fail, the scholarship qualification for the next academic year will be suspended or canceled.
5.6 In any of the following circumstances, if the annual review fails, the winner will be suspended for one year:
(1) Those who failed two sub-degree courses in the previous academic year;
(2) The courses taken have not reached the required credits for two consecutive years;
(3) Subject to the punishment of detention for probation;
(4) The scholarship review committee determines that the progress of its scientific research work is not satisfactory or violates the agreement reached with Siemens on scientific research cooperation and the scholarship qualification should be suspended.
Those whose scholarship qualifications are suspended will have their scholarships suspended from the beginning of the next academic year. Students must pay tuition, accommodation, and other fees by the standards of self-financed students. Before the expiration of the suspension period, upon personal application, you can participate in the annual review of the current year. If the review is qualified, the scholarship benefits can be resumed from the next academic year after the scholarship is suspended after approval by the scholarship review committee.
5.7 If one of the following situations fails, the winner will be disqualified from the scholarship:
(1) Subject to expulsion from school;
(2) Failing to participate in the annual review without justified reasons;
(3) The scholarship review committee determines that the progress of scientific research is not satisfactory or seriously violates the agreement reached with Siemens on scientific research cooperation and the scholarship qualification should be canceled.
Those who have been disqualified for the scholarship will stop issuing their scholarships from the date of the announcement. Students must pay tuition and accommodation fees by the standards for self-financed students, and their eligibility for Siemens China Scholarships cannot be restored.
5.8 In principle, winners cannot change their tutors and research directions after they are admitted to the journal. In case of special circumstances, they must be approved by the "Siemens China Scholarship" review committee after the change of tutors is approved by the school before they can continue to receive scholarship funding, otherwise, their scholarships will be canceled. qualifications.
5.9 If winners wish to apply for other scholarships during their studies, they need to obtain prior written approval from Siemens.
5.10 Winners should strictly abide by the requirements of the "Administrative Regulations on Graduate Student Status of Tsinghua University" during their degree study at Tsinghua University. Winners should strictly abide by national laws and regulations when participating in Siemens scientific research projects.
