University Graduate Program
Chinese Government Special Scholarship-University Graduate Program" is a full scholarship program established by the Ministry of Education of China to support the construction of international high-level universities and build a Chinese higher education brand. Part of China's higher education institutions recruits students independently. Commissioned by the Ministry of Education of China The China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the "CSC") is responsible for the approval of the admissions and daily affairs of the international students of this project.
1. Enrollment category and scholarship period
Master's degree students: Scholarship period is 2-3 years;
Doctoral students: The scholarship period is 3-4 years
1.1 The scholarship recipients can use Chinese to teach in the majors they study in China, and they can also arrange to teach directly in English. Scholarship students who are taught in Chinese if their Chinese level does not meet the requirements for entering the professional study must take one-year Chinese tuition after coming to China, and they can enter the professional study after passing the exam.
1.2 The duration of the scholarship is the length of study determined at the time of admission. In principle, the scholarship will not be extended after the student comes to China.
1.3 The number of scholarships cannot be used across the year.
2. Application channels and application time
Applicants should apply to the Chinese colleges and universities that undertake the enrollment of this scholarship program within the specified time. Please check with the relevant Chinese colleges and universities for the specific application time.
3. Applicant qualifications
3.1 Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health;
3.2 Applicants must be students who are not studying in China (graduates studying in China must graduate more than one academic year);
3.3 Applicant's academic qualifications and age requirements:
Those who come to China to study for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35;
Those who come to China to study for a doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be under the age of 40.
4. Scholarship content
Tuition, accommodation, living expenses, comprehensive medical insurance
4.1 Scholarship living expenses will be paid by the school every month from the date of enrollment of scholarship students. Freshmen who register before the 15th (including the 15th) of the month will receive a full-month scholarship living allowance; those who register after the 15th will receive a half-month scholarship living allowance. The scholarship living expenses of graduates shall be paid half a month after the graduation date determined by the school. For those who suspend, drop out, or return to China after graduation, the scholarship living allowance will be suspended from next month. The scholarship living allowance will be issued during the school holidays; scholarship students who fail to receive the scholarship living allowance on time due to leaving school during the holiday can be repaid after returning to school. Scholarship students who fail to register on time without applying for leave, leave school for non-health reasons, or are absent from school for more than one month, will stop paying the scholarship living allowance for that month.
4.2 Scholarship students who need to suspend their studies due to pregnancy or serious illnesses should return to their home country to give birth or recuperate, and their travel expenses shall be borne by themselves; upon the approval of the school, the scholarship qualifications can be retained for up to one year, but the scholarship living allowance will be suspended during the suspension period. Scholarship students who suspend their studies due to other reasons, their qualifications for scholarships will not be retained.
5. Application process
5.1 Applicants can directly submit applications to the relevant Chinese universities undertaking the independent enrollment project. Before applying, they can contact the Chinese universities in advance to obtain the pre-admission notice.
5.2 Applicants must log in to the "China Scholarship Council Online Application System for Studying in China", fill in the application information online, submit and print the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" online
5.3 Applicants must prepare corresponding materials as required by the National Fund Committee and submit them to the applicant university within the specified time.
Note: The China Scholarship Council only accepts applications from universities and colleges that undertake independent enrollment projects, and does not accept direct applications from individual students. The acceptance agency code of Xidian University is 10701.
6. Application materials (in duplicate)
6.1 "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" (fill in Chinese or English)
6.2 The highest degree certificate that has been notarized. If the applicant is a school student or is already employed, he/she needs to submit an enrollment certificate issued by the school where he/she is studying. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;
6.3 Academic transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;
6.4 Study and research plan in China (not less than 800 words), written in Chinese or English;
6.5 Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English;
6.6 A copy of the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" (the original is kept by yourself. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department and can be downloaded from the website of the China Scholarship Council). Fill in English. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" to conduct inspections. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or the photo is not stamped with a seam seal, is not signed and stamped by the doctor and the hospital is invalid. Because the examination result is valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly.
6.7 Copy of valid passport (valid for more than one year)
7. Admission and notification
7.1 Chinese institutions of higher learning will review the applicant's application materials and decide on candidates for admission.
7.2 Applicants who have been admitted to colleges and universities will receive Chinese government scholarships to study in China after they pass the review by the China Scholarship Council;
7.3 Each scholarship recipient can only receive funding from one Chinese government scholarship program; for scholarship applicants who have been admitted to multiple universities at the same time, the China Scholarship Council will only reserve the scholarship qualification for one school;
7.4 The China Scholarship Council will send the "Admission Notice" and the "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 Form) to the admission institutions before the end of June, and they will forward the above documents to the students themselves;
7.5 Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their admission institutions after coming to China; in principle, they are not allowed to change their majors and duration of the study;
7.6 Scholarship qualifications will not be reserved for those who cannot study in China within the time limit for admission.
