On the evening of May 10, 2021, on the occasion of the opening of the Fifth Silk Road International Expo and China East-West Cooperation and Investment and Trade Fair, the unveiling ceremony of the "China One Belt One Road Cooperation and Sustainable Development Institute" at Xi’an International Studies University Held at Xi'an R&F Hilton Hotel. In his speech, Bai Li extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests attending the unveiling ceremony and briefly introduced the basic situation of the school. The establishment of the Institute has multiple meanings of fulfilling the mission of the university, building a new type of think tank, promoting mutual learning among civilizations, and promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. He said that the Institute will be committed to building cooperation and exchanges for universities and scientific research institutions in the countries along the “Belt and Road”, building bridges to cope with common challenges, and becoming the promotion of the people-to-people bond between China and the countries along the “Belt and Road” including Slovakia. , Another important platform for in-depth exchanges.
Duchamp Bella said in his speech that he was very happy to participate in the inauguration ceremony of "China's Belt and Road Cooperation and Sustainable Development Institute" at Xi'an International Studies University. He said that Slovakia was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with China. The two countries and their peoples have a long-standing traditional friendship. He hopes that China-Slovakia relations will develop stably and healthily. He said that as a high-level foreign language college, Xi’an International Studies University has opened several language majors and trained a large number of international talents to promote the construction of the “Belt and Road”. The establishment of the institute is a mutually beneficial and win-win matter. He hoped that Xi'an International Studies University and Slovak universities will strengthen exchanges on personnel training and scientific research collaboration, and inject new vitality into Sino-Sri Lankan higher education cooperation.
