Confucius Institute Scholarship enrollment guide in 2019

1. Objects of funding

(1). Non-Chinese nationals;

(2). Good health, good character, and learning;

(3). Aspiring to engage in Chinese education, teaching, and related work related to Chinese international promotion;

(4). The age is generally between 16 and 35 years old (in-service Chinese teachers can be relaxed to 45 years old, and undergraduate scholarship applicants are generally under 25 years old).

3. Funding content

(1). The Confucius Institute's full scholarship includes tuition, accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and living expenses (except for four-week study students). The living allowances for undergraduates and one-year study students of Chinese International Education are 2500 RMB / month; Master students majoring in Chinese International Education is 3000 RMB / month.

(2). Accommodation: Xinjiang Normal University provides free dormitories for award-winning students.

(3). Master of Chinese International Education, one-year advanced students, must take a Chinese Proficiency ( HSK ) test and a Chinese Proficiency Test ( HSKK ) before completing and completing the course. The test fee will be reimbursed by the school in the training funds for scholarship students.

(4). Scholarship students should register on the school registration date according to the school registration date each semester, otherwise, the scholarship qualification will be canceled.

(5). Scholarship students who register at the school on the 15th (including the 15th ) of the month will receive a full month's living allowance; those who register after the 15th will receive a half-month living allowance in that month; the living expenses of graduates (finished) will be paid to the school confirmed Half a month after the completion (end) date.

(6). Scholarship students who leave China for more than 15 days due to personal reasons during their studies (other than normal holidays) will stop payment of living expenses during their absence from China; those who suspend school due to personal reasons, drop out of school, or have serious violations of discipline and regulations will stop payment of living expenses.

 

4. The application process

(1). Online application

Starting from March 1, 2019, applicants can log on to the scholarship website (http://cis.chinese.cn), register, fill in the "Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form" and attach a scanned copy of relevant supporting materials.

(2). Contact and select recommending institutions

Applicants log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website to inquire and select recommended institutions

(3). The recommending institution reviews and recommends qualified students to Xinjiang Normal University. Xinjiang Normal University will review the admission qualifications and select the best candidates for pre-admission.

(4). Hanban conducts centralized evaluations and selects the best candidates. The assessment results are generally released 2 months before admission.

(5). Winners can print out their award certificates online; they can enjoy the Confucius Institute scholarship after registering at Xinjiang Normal University within the specified time.

(6). For academic degree students, please refer to the "Annual Evaluation Measures for Confucius Institute Scholarships" and will be assessed at the end of the first semester.

 

5. Application materials

The recommending agency needs to review the applicant’s passport name completeness, correct nationality, and the authenticity and validity of the permanent mailing address. If the following supporting materials are not in Chinese or English, corresponding notarized documents are required.

(1). A scanned copy of the passport photo page.

(2). Applicants under the age of 18 must submit a certificate of entrustment signed by their guardian in China.

(3). A scanned copy of HSK and HSKK score reports (valid for two years).

(4). Recommendation letter issued by the person in charge of the recommending institution.

(5). Notarized highest education certificate (certificate of expected graduation) and school transcripts.

(6). The Master of Chinese International Education must provide two recommendation letters from the instructor with the title of associate professor or above. Those who provide the work agreement or relevant certification of the teaching institution to be taught after graduation will be given priority for admission.
