A: Xiamen University has developed in-depth foreign exchanges and cooperation. Answer: Our School of Overseas Education, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, School of Public Health, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, School of Life Sciences, School of Ocean and Earth, School of Ocean and Coastal Development, School of Environment and Ecology, School of Energy, School of Electronic Science and Various international students from the School of Technology and the School of Information (except doctoral students) study at the Xiang’an Campus of Xiamen University, and the rest of the students study at the Siming Campus of Xiamen University.

  • On-campus accommodation on Siming campus: application system is implemented, and the two-person room is about 30-70 yuan/day/person.
  • Off-campus accommodation on Siming campus: about 2500 RMB/month.
  • On-campus accommodation on Xiang'an Campus: The application system is implemented, and the apartment-style apartment (each apartment has four double rooms) is about 1600-4000 yuan/year/person.

A: Application time:

  • Undergraduate: February 1, 2021 to May 18, 2021;

5. Q: What are the language requirements for international students from Xiamen University to apply for admission?

A: Language proficiency requirements:

  • Applicants for Chinese-taught programs are required to submit an HSK certificate, including humanities and social sciences, economics and management, art and traditional Chinese medicine with HSK level 5 and 210 points or above, and science and medicine majors with HSK level 4 and 210 points. Or above, the certificate must be within the validity period. Applicants who use Chinese as the language of instruction during the academic education stage can use the certificate of instruction issued by the school as a substitute.
  • Applicants for English-taught programs are required to submit a new TOEFL (TOEFL iBT) or academic IELTS (IELTS Academic) transcript. The new TOEFL must have a score of 80 or above, and the academic IELTS must have a score of 6.0 or above. The certificate must be within the validity period. Applicants who use English as the language of instruction during the academic education stage can use the certificate of the language of instruction issued by the school as a substitute. Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempted from submitting proof of English language proficiency.

 

6. Q: Can the registration fee be paid only through the online registration system of Xiamen University?

A: Yes. We do not accept cash, bank transfer, etc. to pay the registration fee. (Note: Exchange students do not need to pay the registration fee).

 

7. Q: Do international students of Xiamen University still need to pay the registration fee when applying for scholarships?

A: All applicants who apply for scholarships through our school must log in to the "Xiamen University Online Application System for Overseas Students" to register and pay the application fee.

 

8. Q: Do applicants for graduate students (master and doctorate) from Xiamen University need to contact their supervisors in advance?

A: There is no mandatory requirement. If there is an intentional tutor, please indicate the name of the teacher in the intentional tutor column of the application form. The e-mail address of the teachers of the department can generally be found on the website of each college. Having a tutor agrees to guide it does not mean that the application will pass the school's review.

 

9. Q: If I have not obtained the graduation certificate or the highest academic certificate when applying for admission, can I apply for the Xiamen University International Student Program?

A: If the applicant is a student at school, it is necessary to submit a pre-graduation certificate (in Chinese or English) issued by the school where he/she is studying. Those who apply for admission with the pre-graduation certificate must submit the corresponding graduation certificate to the Admissions Office of our school before September 1st of the year of admission, otherwise, the admission qualification will be canceled.

 

10. Q: Do international students from Xiamen University have to hand in the physical examination records of foreigners?

A: It needs to be submitted at the time of application. If the applicant is studying in China, he can go to the International Travel Health Care Center in the Chinese city where he or she is located for a physical examination and provide the "International Travel Health Examination Certificate" issued by the center. If the medical examination is conducted in the country of origin, there are no restrictions on the hospitals that conduct the medical examination. The general health check is valid for 6 months.

 

11. Q: Can international students of Xiamen University apply for more than one scholarship program at the same time?

A: If you meet the application requirements for the corresponding scholarship, you can apply at the same time. However, the same applicant can only enjoy one scholarship program at most.

 

12. Q: Can international students currently studying at Xiamen University apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship-University Independent Enrollment Program?

A: The autonomous enrollment program of higher education is generally for the current Chinese study students with a single quota, generally no more than 5 per year. The specific application method of the current year shall prevail.

 

13. Q: How to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship of Xiamen University?

A: The Chinese Government Scholarship has multiple sub-projects, and generally there are two ways to apply:

  • Applicants for the Autonomous Enrollment Program of Universities, the China-US Humanities Exchange Program, and the Chinese Government Marine Scholarship should submit their applications to the Admissions Office of Xiamen University by the requirements of the corresponding guidelines.
  • Applicants for country projects, Ministry of Commerce scholarships, and China-ASEAN Elite Scholarships should submit their applications to Chinese embassies and consulates abroad by relevant requirements.
