International Student Freshman Scholarship

1. Introduction to Scholarship

Xiamen University established the "International Student Freshman Scholarship" in 2006. Every year, several outstanding undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students are selected from the applicants, and tuition-free rewards are given (4 years for doctoral students, 2 or 3 years for master students, 4 or 5 years for undergraduates), and provide monthly living expenses for outstanding master and doctoral international students according to the Chinese government scholarship standards. Our school will evaluate the winners year by year according to the performance of the winners during their studies, and only those who meet the conditions can continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next academic year.

 

2. Applicant qualifications

2.1 Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health;

2.2 Applicant's academic qualifications and age requirements:

① Undergraduate: fresh high school graduates, high school graduates or above, under the age of 25;

② Master: fresh bachelor degree graduates, university graduates or above, under 40 years old;

③ Ph.D.: fresh graduates with a master's degree, a master's degree or above, and no more than 45 years old.

 

3. Admissions Major

3.1 English-taught textbooks, masters, and doctoral majors

To promote the internationalization of our school, our school offers many English-taught textbooks, masters, and doctoral majors, aiming to cultivate high-level international talents who have a good professional foundation and understand Chinese society and culture. 3.2 Chinese-taught textbooks, masters and doctoral majors

4. Scholarship period

Undergraduate students: 4 or 5 academic years, scholarship duration 4 or 5 academic years;

Master's degree students: 2 or 3 academic years, the scholarship period of 2 or 3 academic years;

Doctoral students: 4 academic years, scholarship duration 4 academic years.

 

5. Number of scholarships:

24 (including 8 doctoral students, 11 master students, and 5 undergraduates)

 

6. Scholarship content

There are first- and second-class scholarships for doctoral and master students, and no first-class scholarships for undergraduates. First-class doctoral and master scholarships are exempt from tuition (4 years for doctoral students, 2 or 3 years for master students), and monthly living expenses are provided according to the Chinese government scholarship standards (3,500 yuan/month for doctoral students and 3,000 yuan/month for master students) ). Second-class scholarships are provided with tuition-free rewards (4 years for doctoral students, 2 or 3 years for master students, 4 or 5 years for undergraduates). ★ Our school will conduct an annual assessment on scholarship winners according to the Chinese Government Scholarship Evaluation Method. Those who meet the requirements can continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next academic year, otherwise, their qualifications will be canceled.

February 1-April 30, 2018

 

8. Application procedure

Applicants for the "Xiamen University International Student Freshman Scholarship" must apply for the relevant majors of our school and be admitted by our school before they are eligible to participate in the scholarship selection.

8.1 Eligible applicants fill in the "Xiamen University International Student Scholarship Application Form".

8.2 Online registration: Applicants login to the "Xiamen University International Student Online Registration System"

(Http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn/application/)

After completing the online registration and downloading and printing the online newspaper, the "Xiamen University International Student Admission Application Form" is automatically generated.

8.3 Send the application materials: Please submit the application materials required in the "Xiamen University International Student Undergraduate/Master/Doctoral Admissions Guide for 2018" together with the "Xiamen University International Student Scholarship Application Form" and "Xiamen University International Student Admissions" The Application Form should be mailed (delivered) to the Admissions Office of Xiamen University before the above deadline. If the application materials are sent from within China, it is recommended to use China Post EMS to ensure that the materials reach our school in a timely and accurate manner. 9. Selection process and results announcement

Undergraduate applicants who hold SAT scores, IB diplomas, GCE A-level scores, UEC scores, and excellent grades, graduate applicants who graduated from world-renowned universities, come from our school’s exchange colleges, or are recommended by senior professors (experts) Be given priority. Our school will organize experts to comprehensively consider the applicant's academic performance, language level, academic ability, scientific research results, and the opinions of the tutors, and select the scholarship candidates from the applicants to report to the school leadership for approval.

The scholarship results are expected to be confirmed in mid-June 2018 and announced on the international student admissions website of our school. Later, our school will notify scholarship recipients via email and send them the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Studying in China (JW202 Form) as soon as possible.
