
The 10th South Asia and Southeast Asia Cultural Festival opens
On the morning of April 20th, the opening ceremony of the 10th South Asia and Southeast Asia Cultural Festival of Yunnan Minzu University hosted by the Youth League Committee and undertaken by the Youth League Committee of the South Asian Southeast Asian Language and Culture College was held in the Little Garden of Zhiyuan. Vice President Duan Gang attended the opening ceremony.
In his opening speech, Duan Gang pointed out that the 15 non-universal languages in South Asia and Southeast Asia are a beautiful business card for the school and an important window of our school’s international school characteristics. This cultural festival is a concentrated expression of the school characteristics of these languages. It is a bridge between the school and the countries of South Asia and Southeast Asia. He requested that this traditional event should be made more colorful, innovative, and rich.
Fifteen South Asian and Southeast Asian language majors dressed in various and colorful costumes from the target country to attend the opening ceremony. After the opening ceremony, the students lined up to go on a school tour with the accompaniment of music from countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The parade route runs from Zhiyuan Garden to Huiyuan National Museum. The students were enthusiastic along the way, waving the national flags of China and the target country, and greeting the pedestrians in their professional language. After arriving at the Ethnographic Museum, the students went to the tents of their respective classes and devoted themselves to the enthusiastic food production, multi-cultural explanations, and beautiful dance performances.
