International students won the speech contest

On November 17, the "2020 Oracle Cup International Student'Me and Chinese' Speech Contest" hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries ended successfully in Zhengzhou. The theme of this competition is "Hehe". Since the online competition started on October 16, more than 2,000 international students from 18 colleges and universities across the country have enthusiastically participated in the competition. After all levels of competition, 10 players have entered the finals. Wei Duoduo, a Nigerian student from the school, was shortlisted for the finals and won the first prize.




Wei Duoduo went through all the way and competed fiercely with players from South Korea, Cambodia, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Rwanda, Kenya, Cameroon, and other countries in the finals. She was full of enthusiasm and strong infection. I shared the life of studying at Yunnan Normal University, told about the "beauty of harmony" of Chinese characters, and expressed her wish of "the world is in harmony, harmony, and coexistence" and won the judges' praise the audience. She performed well in the finals. Won the first prize in China.




Since receiving the notice from the Yunnan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the school has attached great importance to it and has carefully organized and mobilized international students from our school to participate in the competition. From October 16th to October 31st, Yunnan Chinese Language and Culture College organized more than 130 international students at home and abroad to participate in the preliminary contest. After 15 days of online answering questions in the preliminary round, a total of 4 international students from our school successfully advanced to the top 30 semi-finals in the country. Yunnan Chinese Language and Culture College specially arranged teachers to guide the international students entering the semi-finals to make videos and provided special guidance in the aspects of speech scripts, pronunciation, appearance, and manners. Through this competition, the achievements of our school's study abroad education in China were demonstrated, and the demeanor of our school's international students was demonstrated.
