Foreign students won the third prize in the speech contest
On November 17, 2020, the final of the 2020 "Oracle Cup" national international student "I and Chinese" speech contest sponsored by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, hosted by People’s Daily Online, and co-organized by the Henan Provincial People’s Government was held in Zhengzhou. Our university is a Korean undergraduate. Student Li Jingxun won the third prize.
With the theme of "Hehe", this speech contest started online preliminary and semi-finals on October 16, attracting thousands of international students from home and abroad to participate actively. Under the meticulous organization of the International Student Education Management Center, Li Jingxun (South Korea) and Prince (Afghanistan) of our school entered the semi-finals with excellent results. In the end, Li Jingxun passed all the way and became the 10 students who entered the finals of the national colleges and universities and the 2 international colleges in Yunnan entered the finals. One of the students, accompanied by the leading teacher, went to Zhengzhou to compete and won the national third prize.
In the final scene, Hu She, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said in a speech: “We will use hehe as the theme of this competition. We hope that in today’s world under the epidemic, people from all countries can abandon disputes and prejudices. , Actively carry out cooperation to create a peaceful, tranquil, prosperous, and beautiful world. Chinese characters are the carrier of Chinese cultural heritage. After the competition, all participating international students accepted media interviews and expressed that they would cherish the opportunity to study in China, even more, continue to work hard to learn Chinese, understand China’s excellent culture, and integrate the spirit of "harmony" into their study, life and future work. Tell the Chinese story well and serve as a bridge for the spread of Chinese culture to the world.
