Ministry of Commerce Scholarship

The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China assists developing countries in the academic degree education project was established in 2008 by the Ministry of Commerce using the foreign aid funds of the Chinese government. It is specially set up for the recipient countries to train high-end economic, trade, and commercial officials and management talents. It is dedicated to training high-level, compound, and applied talents in the fields of politics, economy and trade, diplomacy, agriculture, science, education, culture, health, energy, transportation, and public management. Provide intellectual support to promote the economic and social development of recipient countries, including one-year master's degree programs, two-year master's degree programs, and three-year doctoral degree programs. The project mainly subsidizes government officials, researchers from academic institutions, and senior management personnel in related fields from the recipient countries to study for masters and doctoral degrees in English in China. Due to the short academic system, students are required to obtain a bachelor’s degree in advance and have certain work experience in the corresponding field to understand the teaching and learning content in a timely and full understanding. The students are required to have a good state of health to adapt to high-intensity learning and finally obtain a Bachelor of Science.


1. Enrollment target

The enrollment targets are government officials above the department level (including department level), heads of academic institutions above the dean level of colleges and universities, or administrative personnel of equivalent level, and the English level is competent for academic purposes.


2. Training goals

The project aims to cultivate a cross-cultural understanding of the principles of pedagogy, the ability to have scientific research on education policies and practices, a broader vision of education reform and development at home and abroad, and the promotion of Sino-foreign educational exchanges, understanding, and cooperation. Education professionals.


3. Enrollment plan

The 2019 Master of Comparative Education program is a two-year master's degree program that recruits students from Africa, Asia, and other developing countries in the field of comparative education. The language of instruction is English.


4. Funding content

The project is funded by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China under the foreign aid funds for school teaching and management-related expenses, basic living expenses of students, and round-trip international air tickets. Students are exempt from paying tuition, textbook materials, research and investigation fees, English teaching subsidies, and graduation thesis guidance fees; the school provides free accommodation for students; purchases comprehensive medical insurance for students in China; the school regularly grants students a living allowance: master 36,000 yuan/ person/year, Ph.D. 42,000 yuan/person/year; placement fee of 3,000 yuan/person, lump-sum payment to the trainees. The Ministry of Commerce provides free round-trip international air tickets for all scholarship students: once for the 1-year program, once for the 2-year program or more, and provides n-1 (n is the number of academic years) for returning home to visit relatives. Other expenses are coordinated and managed by the Ministry of Commerce or the school and are not distributed to students. The Ministry of Commerce only provides subsidies within the academic system for students. Students who postpone their graduation for some reason will not receive further funding.


5. Application method

5.1 Application conditions

(1) Enrollment countries and requirements: in-service personnel engaged in education-related occupations in Africa, Asia, and other developing countries, such as education administrators, school teachers and administrators, and in-service personnel aspiring to engage in education management and education leadership. Priority is given to education administrators at or above the middle level in the education departments of the central, provincial and municipal levels, and education managers at or above the middle level in schools at all levels.

(2) Possess a bachelor's degree or above, age not more than 45 years old, and English language proficiency meets the requirements.

(3) Physical and mental health. Provide a health certificate or physical examination form issued by a local public hospital. There are no diseases that prohibit entry and long-term stay in China under Chinese laws and regulations. Wan refused to suffer from severe hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and other serious chronic diseases, mental diseases, or infectious diseases that may cause major harm to public health, recovery from major operations and acute illness, severe limb disabilities Trainees and pregnant women come to China for training.


5.2 Application procedure

(1) Scholarship application

1) Operation steps: Applicants must log in to the China Scholarship Council of China Study Abroad (www.campuschina.org). After registering and logging in, select "Online Registration", "Chinese Government Scholarship" and then enter the application page, and follow the prompts to fill in the school, professional information, and personal information. Finally, the application form for the Chinese Government Scholarship is formed and printed, and the name is hand-signed and the photo is posted.

2) Description

A. Our school’s acceptance agency number is 10345, and the professional direction is "Comparative Education".

B. The CSC number generated in the form is used when filling out Form 201 of Visa for Study in China.


(2) Material preparation

Applicants should prepare the following materials before applying:

1) Unit recommendation letter: A recommendation letter issued by the applicant's institution, introducing the basic situation of the applicant and indicating that it is willing to recommend him to study in China.

2) Academic recommendation letter: A recommendation letter issued by an associate professor or above, introducing the applicant's academic background, professional direction, past performance, and research capabilities.

3) Photocopies of previous academic qualifications and degree certificates: including copies of the previous academic qualifications "Graduation Certificate", "Degree Certificate", etc.

4) Copy of transcript: A copy of the student’s transcript of the main course of the previous academic qualification.

5) Personal resume: personal background information and study and work experience after high school.

6) Personal statement: personal assumptions and goals for studying related majors in China.

7) Research plan: the learning and research tasks that individuals hope to complete during their studies in China.

8) A copy of an ordinary passport: a copy of the passport photo page, clearly showing the name, passport number, and other information. Do not use diplomatic passports and official passports to submit applications.

9) Copy of language proficiency certificate: Applicants whose native language, official language, and university language are not English should provide proof of English proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, and have the best GRE test scores, which are not required.

(3) Submit an application

1) Submit the originals of the above 1 and 2 and their scanned electronic documents to the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in the host country.

2) A written request for the Economic and Commercial Office to issue a recommendation letter, and indicate in the written request whether or not to accept transfers to other schools for the same or similar professional degree if the school quota has been used up. If there are other special instructions, put them forward together.

3) After receiving the recommendation letter issued by the Department of Economics and Commerce, apply online at www.campuschina.org (www.campuschina.org), and upload scanned copies of all application materials.

3) Deadline: The deadline for the 2020-level comparative education graduate program is June 18, 2021, and the 2021-level will be notified separately.
