Confucius Institute Scholarship

To train qualified Chinese language teachers and promote the international promotion of Chinese language and the spread of Chinese culture, the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban (hereinafter referred to as Hanban) established the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship (Confucius Institute Scholarship) and entrusted the Confucius Institute, independent Confucius Classrooms, Some overseas Chinese test centers (hereinafter referred to as recommending institutions) recommend outstanding students and in-service Chinese teachers to study at Chinese universities (hereinafter referred to as receiving institutions).


1) Objects of funding

1. Non-Chinese nationals.

2. Physical and mental health, good character, and learning.

3. Aspiring to engage in Chinese education, teaching, and related work related to Chinese international promotion.

4. The age is 18-35 years old (unified on September 1, 2021). In-service Chinese teachers are relaxed to 45 years old, and applicants for undergraduate scholarships are generally under 25 years old.

3) Funding content

The Confucius Institute Scholarship includes tuition, accommodation, living expenses (except for four-week scholarship students), and comprehensive medical insurance. Among them, the standard of living expenses is 2500 RMB/month for undergraduates, one-year and one-semester research students; 3,000 RMB/month for master students majoring in Chinese International Education.

Scholarship students will enter the journal at the time specified in the acceptance letter of the receiving institution, otherwise, the scholarship qualification will be canceled. Those who register before September 15 (including the 15th) will receive the full living allowance of the month; those who register after the 15th will receive a half-month living allowance of the same month.


4) The application process

From March 1, 2021, log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website ( cis.Chinese.cn ) to inquire about recommending institutions and receiving institutions (the organization code of Zhejiang Normal University is 10345); submit application materials online, follow the application process and review Opinions and scholarship review results; winners confirm with the host institution to go through the procedures for studying in China, and print the award certificate online; register for the student registration within the specified time and enjoy the Confucius Institute scholarship benefits

The application deadline is:

1. May 15 (Enrollment in September).

2. November 15 (entry in March 2022).


5) About the Chinese Bridge winners

Those who have obtained the 2021 "Confucius Institute Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions should log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website and submit application materials to the target receiving institution with the scholarship certificate.


6) Disclaimer

1. Application materials that are incomplete or do not meet the enrollment requirements will not be accepted.

2. If the application materials are falsified or filled out and submitted by others, once verified, the application qualification will be canceled.

3. Winners who are unable to register for some reason should inform the receiving institution in writing and indicate the reason 15 days before the registration date. Those who fail to register without reason will be disqualified for scholarships.

4. The scholarship qualification will be canceled if the admission medical examination is unqualified, or if you drop out of school or suspend your studies in the middle of the school.
